Australian Federal Election 2025

Do you have your survivalist bunker stocked up yet wayne? ;)

Oh, sorry, I thought you were leaving us. How is that going?

Maybe back to Canada if Pollivre wins, which looks unlikely.
Yes. (I hope people in Spain and Portugal have one)

Still thinking about it.

No, Canadians are retarded.

Well here you go, you left and right wing loonies.

OMG, I'm right next to Rumpy.

The two most balanced people on the forum imo.
It must be an age thing, everyone mellows as they get older.
They also realise, most politicians say what they think will keep them in their seat, not what is always right for the populace.
When ideology overrides common good and common sense, it needs to be called out no matter which side of politics gets scorned, as Spain is currently finding out. :wheniwasaboy:

Yes you can tell it is an ABC funded test, they have put Labor in the sweet spot. 🤣

Dutton has threatened to sell them off, so the Libs get put in the loony area. 🤣

Really not much difference between Lab and Lib this election.
Fact I am halfway between doesn't surprise.
I could easily switch my vote - but Dutton saying he will destroy the ABC is a vote loser for me.

IMHO the ABC will die a natural death as time moves on, it is getting crowded out by internet, streaming and social media, already its audience is mostly over 65 years old.

The other problem that it has, with being so biased, it further alienates itself from large percentage of even its target audience.

The NBN has put the final nail in the ABC, it is only a matter of time before it is laid to rest.

Again only my opinion and I don't even have the NBN, but don't watch a lot of ABC because its coverage of politics and issues is way too one sided IMO.

I listen to the health report, and watch a few of the items on it e.g. Insiders.
It's out national broadcaster and important imo. Cousins watch the Rural reports. Especially important in the country and bush. Destroy it and you lose my vote. I am sure I am not the only one. Australian Reporters in location overseas with much more detailed information, e,g, Foreign Correspondent.

Seriously isn't as biased as you think. If you watch it more you would realise that. Always under attack by Newscorp though, just like the BBC in the UK. I don't want all my news being controlled by billionaires, especially based in a foreign power.

After the Spain experiment

I somewhat believe their ABC will be hard at work, as are obviously the EU powers, to hide these news and fake some causes
I wonder if they will go as far as blaming it on global warming / climate change.
I think they will
Goebbels followers as they are...

I think the trouble with the ABC is not political bias, which it has, but not as much as Newscorp, is the lack of intellectual content.

It seems to be dumbing itself down to interviews with pop "stars" and people's individual hard luck stories escpecially those affecting the indigenous people or women. It's been taken over by wokes and feminists in other words.

There is basically no science, technology, consumer affairs or anything else of an educative nature.

A dedicated education channel instead of the Comedy Channel would be a start.

I wouldn't begrudge it's budget if it supplied some worthwhile content that you can't get on YouTube.

Radio National is far more intellectual than the TV.

Heh heh... check this out for an own goal from Peter Dutton.

He says if his policy had been implemented 5 years ago young people would be better off by $$$,$$$ due to price inflation for housing. Completely opposite to what they are espousing. LOL
