Trump Era 2025-2029 : Stock and Economic Comment

having now endured two iPhones the next phone i buy will be Asian ( one of the available brands )
the current Apples have NONE of the features i prefer , and have proved far less reliable than the two Blackberries and two Nokias i owned before them

make stuff i want to use and i will buy it , US tariffs are likely to make my next phone more attractive price wise ( who knows maybe the next phone will be Russian with last generation tech ( but the features i want ( not built in obsolescence )
Iphone is a an Apple brand, its not generic, it only runs apples IOS.
I assume you mean you are looking at an android based brand.

Funny , isn't it . The most reliable and useful things I have ever owned are Apple computers , iPads , and iPhones. Have never missed a beat since the original Apple2e from the eighties.
Perhaps I don't expect much !!!
Cheers

Our current phones are both I-phones. Tend to have a mind of their own Drop in and out a on a whim.
If we were out beyond the preverbal black stump I could say it was a possibility, but when only 50 k from the CBD and 2 towers within spitting distance........................

i will keep my options open ( except for Apple )

i don't need bleeding edge with 4 ultra-resolution cameras etc etc etc

i am sure something rather modest will fill the requirements ( and i don't normally talk for hours on the phone either )

the Blackberries and Nokias did enough in their day ( but the switch to 4G obsoleted them , or will soon )

up until the switch to Intel and ARM hardware yes they did , and i still have a functional 'wind tunnel ' ( in which i will probably install an alternate operating system )

i could tell stories of a former work-mate that won a slurry of awards for using three G4s networked to get through his architecture degree at uni ( including awards from the proprietary software maker )

I’m an Apple fan, easy to use and reliable, will never go back to Microsoft Windows. I bought the last generation of IPhone SE, right before Apple discontinued this model. I were disappointed there won’t be an iPhone SE gen 4, I didn’t want to spend $1000 on a phone.

I have IPhone, iPad and a MacBook Air.

I've been using Samsung for a while and have no issues. The last few phones I bought were dirt cheap on eBay from a Sydney phone store.

They weren't the latest models, but they do everything I need them to do, and more.
Because of my job, I usually manage to destroy my phones within 18 month s so have always bought relatively cheap androids. Current one <$400 and does everything I need adequately.

Ebay a good tip, will check that out when this one suffers it's inevitable miserable death.

Trump’s crisis is only beginning. It will make you question everything

The issue that really matters for markets and the world right now is: do Donald Trump’s actions mean America is no longer the safe haven it’s been for decades?
.
......“President Trump is attempting to change the global order of China using cheap labour to produce goods which are exported to US consumers who collectively pay for the goods through debt which is funded by China through the purchase of US-denominated bonds ...”

...The gyrations on financial markets have certainly made for great drama, but at their core they show how investors are trying to reprice in real time the fundamental shift from a world of globalisation, free and easy trade, relatively low risk and rising asset prices, to a world of fragmentation, protectionism and uncertainty....

- a quick recovery? I'm not buying it.

NVDA dumping after hours as it's had to pull 5.5 billion worth of expected income given recent export controls to China 🤣

NVDA was driving the AI boom, right?
Newton's Third Law of Motion states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
This seems to apply to the markets also.

All the Trump supporters right now.🤣

Newton's third works both ways and is not one dimensional in neither physics, sociology, nor time ;)

Which is action and which is reaction? Or reaction to the reaction? In my job Newton's third does not not exclusively reside in the first instance, but reverberates in innumerable instances and in the passage of time until equilibrium is reached.

Likewise in trade and politics, particularly with regards to time.
