Uranium stocks continue to recover and went on a tear overnight. Must have been some news about a new reactor or agreement somewhere because POU didn't do much.

Hopefully our URNM follow suit. Been solid since the break up around mid/late Sep.

I had it tagged as a breakout at close on Tuesday but neglected to buy it yesterday unfortunately. The unmentionable chart looks very positive. Up 7% this morning.

I had a not dissimilar experience with the NYSE listed Van Eck ETF NLR which reached an all time high last night and gave a YTD return of nearly 18%. I wasn't Uranium following as closely as you but only realised the surge in U stocks because of AI Data Centres and the need for Small Module Reactors SMR when I searched today.

With the timeline of 3+ and some say more years to be operational I'm still deciding whether to hop on now or to wait for these stocks to retrace to support.

@Sean K will be smiling today, all his commodity stocks and funds are greener by the day.

Yes of course, most if not all power plants are giant hot water cauldrons, gas excepted which are using turbines..mr @Smurf1976 can confirm.
The white clouds scaring people being mostly steam generated by the water cooling towers as this plant is on main river, and would be similar on a coal plant

Let's go back to the uranium thread: that plant as most in France is powered with mali niger ore, a threatened source in the current geopolitical world.
I am a long time bull for Uranium irrespective of my own feelings regarding civil nuclear use.

October 24 update: Multi year rally for uranium has started.

The surge to build large scale data-centres continues strongly. Recently GOOG, AMZN and AAPL have announced plans to ensure their DCs have a reliable sources of power. Nuclear power is a significant component in their plans. Plans to restart the former 3 mile Island reactor, conversion of coal power plants to nuclear power plants and plans to build SMRs have been announced. Uranium production will have to be increased to meet the demand. However this demand isn't short term, rather it's a medium to longer term trend (5 - 10yr).

I will maintain a bullish outlook for uranium producers for the next decade. They'll provide plenty of BYD trading opportunities during the next 5 yrs. I'll not be buying a uranium ETF and holding for 5 years as commodity price cycles are quite volatile. I'll trade frequently in this sector using the dips as entries.

Nov 24 update: Underlying demand slowly rising.

Lots of news regarding AI's need for reliable 24hr baseline power. Embargo on Russian enriched uranium. Looks likely to a slow burner and will probably need a few more years. A buy the dip sector for sure.

I thought POU getting back over 80 bucks might have been a very good sign and that the 70s were over, but nope.

Interesting that URNM hasn't exactly followed the POU and has recovered a bit since the bottom at 7.00. Reason being perhaps that producers and near term re-producers had locked in some longer term contracts at a decent price.

Watching for a golden cross in the next week or two.
