Hello everyone, I am new to the world of stock investing and I am just wondering as to if I can keep my information private that I provide to third-party entities, keep in mind I am not at all trying to avoid taxes, I am simply paranoid for the information I provide.

Can I also use my initials abbreviating my name instead of my full name? Thanks

I find the whole privacy issue in ALL things interesting.

Now if you have a few drug labs a couple of wives escaped from prison
or run anything highly illegal---I get it.

But if your Joe Average (No relative to Joe Blow) Im sure you have a mobile phone
drive and walk past CCTV own a credit card or two,Bought anything on line or opened
a bank account or applied for a passport.
Then whats the issue

Which 3rd party entities?

If you want to hold legal title to an asset, I would suggest using your full name...

This is unusually harsh advice from the normally kind sesquipedalean @tech/a, but one with which I concur.

Perhaps seeking counselling for your paranoia from a professional such as a psychologist, counseller or doctor may help. Many have the arses out of their pants for work at present with the pandemic which may take you initials or not. With telehealth you could don a cloak and a mask as in the below illustration.

Then again you may have to proffer your medicare or private health insurance number.

You could also change your name via deed poll to your initials of which I enclose an example that I myself have contemplated above the suggested costume.

Keeping your information private from crooks sure, that's a good idea because identity theft is a real thing.

Keeping your information from a share registry or broker though is not in that category. No reason for concern there assuming we're talking about legitimate brokers.:2twocents
