Australian (ASX) Stock Market Forum

My simple thing

Not asking details but saying a system double its entry is very different if it is in 10 years or 10 weeks, in a falling or rising market, on the ASX or NYSE.
I try to be interested but without these duration, these numbers are a bit meaningless even to compare vs own systems or indicators.
I hope you understand
The time frame is 1/1/1990 to current date excluding delisted stock. This post belongs to me as the title indicated. "My simple thing" that means this is mine not anyone else. The post intends for a show case only. Regarding the material I believe I have provided some hints . Even for me to delve into Bollinger band TS and WETT I have to buy the kindle version ( roughly about $20 each ) spend my time to to plug in and out my add on, spending my personal time & effort to do my own research. If anyone keen please DYOR and spend. Or if you don't want to spend, you can contact the author to give you the free code. See if he keen to give it to you.

Again nothing personal and I don't mean to be rude.. So far, I believe I haven't trick, deceive or scam anyone. Most importantly, I don't sell my code and concept or giving a system signal or tips. I have also mentioned early on my post if you don't like my post just go and look away no need to spread the hatred here. I have never ask anyone to join my post. I hope that's clear enough

Thanks for clarifying the period
It is critical
But you read me wrong:
I made it clear i thought i do not want your code, nor actually am i interested in the material until i have all the means to judge if it is something i would be interested in investigating..
I just expected to be able to get something out of your posts, maybe a baseline, an appreciation of performance, a basic idea or concept to expand
etc it is your thread so do what you want .
Is anyone getting anything out of your posts purely and only based on theses posts until i asked these critical details?
Anyway i am out and i hope for the others on that thread that they will have less obscure postings from now on
Good luck on you system tradings

My comment is not aiming at you qldfrog. Strangely, when I read a random person start talking smack I just lost it a bit. Yeah, This is a free forum you can go as you pleased. Goodluck to your TS too

My comment is not aiming at you qldfrog.
@bettamania I think it was most likely aimed at me, my post was a bit over the top in the way I worded it, I apologize. I do find your posts a bit vague and I feel that this makes it difficult for the reader to get any real value from them. This is just how I see them, others may be able see more in them than me but I do think that more people would be able to see what you are trying to do if you added more context to you posts.

Looking of your reply, to what extend you think my research need your approval and validation? FYI the indicator within "My simple thing" is coming from multiple platforms that I personally translated by my self. Life is too short Dave ! I don't know what makes you that so overconfident and start talking smack. If you got any system you would like to post fell free to post it I am pretty sure the rest of the blokes will jump in with much enthusiasm

Hi Betta,

Can you tell us the point of this thread?

Did I miss something early on where you were presenting a trading strategy or code for Amibroker?

Just wondering how members can leverage off this amazing simple thing.

Cheers,
Sean K

The point of this post is to review the existing trading system that are available in the market and this is one of my hobby
Correct me if I am wrong but Is there a rule in this forum where I must present my code every time I post a system? The main concepts are within a book. As I mentioned on my previous post. If you want some code just google them up there are a view interpretation even within this forum there are some codes on AFL already. This post is to encourage people to do research based on their capacity not to invite a copy and pasting expert. Regarding the turnover, there is a hint within my previous previous post that title revisiting WETT. But talking about the exact code, I believe everybody is guarding his own material

Let me draw an analogy right now when we purchase metastock platform or Amibroker or any trading softwares, Is the software writer has the obligation to guarantee his customers to be well off?. Referring to this analogy everybody need to limit them self to asking too much. This is just a free forum. Nobody has the obligation. Most importantly I don't discredit, scam or doing anything that against the law. Hope that helps!

Cheers

Both system are good I've been reviewing all generated signal . Lets pick up an example past WA1 trades

Pic 1 EA is modified TT my version and binary wave is a modified original version without price filter

Now we compare the 2 newly coded system WETT and modifed BB Then again my gut feeling tells me Bband has an early entry

As I suspect any turtle BO is mostly will have a potential to land us on at the end of a trend

now one of my favourite modified Bband

In conclusion all are good and has attracted many ASX participants; but the best IMO, still Modified Bband (1st) , ModifiedTT(2nd) and WETT(3rd).

Common for people to post up their workings on systems.

Did the same 25 years ago with “ Techtrader “ Radge published the system in his book “ UnHoly Grails “

As I was happy to share the Entire code and trade it live over 4 tears using a BT margin account
We started with $30K and closed it after a peak capital value of $530k at $350K
I went off and bought a house “IP” with that.

Anyway TT was pulled to bits Critisised and in the early days when equity increases were slow labeled a boring exercise. In the end as the years went by became a valuable resource for those interested in systems developement.

Unfortunately when Nick shut down his Reef Cap web site all was lost. A few here may remember the exercise. I just wanted to see if a builder ( me ) without formal financial or computer training could develop a profitable trading system. Turns out that if you develop a long only system in a bull market you can!

So I wouldn’t get all protective of code or criticism absorb and use.

In Radge’s book there is a Bollinger Band System and he also put out a Weekend Trend trading system on a seperate cover.

A good journey to undertake and worth the time

Your more likely to find out what you don’t need to know more than what you think you need to know !

Yes I remember it well as will @wayneL, ZipZap was also around a lot as he was heavily into systems. Wasn't your partner in the process Daryl something?

Apology for the late reply! Can't resist to go away from my computer during weekend despite a chill weather outside. Talking about the closing of Reefcap forum, I managed to secure a few copycat of systems such as Lplate which is a 2 RSI, Bband 202, Bband commodity, Bang for the $, weekly TT205 and a few others mini systems (which is not profitable). Those years were quite rough for me where I need to out of trading and keep my material away.

Thank God now I am good and back on my feet where I manage to turn the table a bit toward my direction. My post is just a general review according to me and any materials that I got. Am I truly trading these systems? No, except Bband which I potentially will walk this system and combined it with my existing TLWE as they are align. I don't mean to compete with anyone either as this is quite immature and those puberty stage has passed already.

Your last sentence advise there quite right, the things I find out.... not truly a problem that comes from TS but mainly from random visitor with anger management issue who drop in this post :)

@bettamania I think it was most likely aimed at me, my post was a bit over the top in the way I worded it, I apologize. I do find your posts a bit vague and I feel that this makes it difficult for the reader to get any real value from them. This is just how I see them, others may be able see more in them than me but I do think that more people would be able to see what you are trying to do if you added more context to you posts.
vague .. yes

but that is the point

trying to provoke each investor's/trader's fine-tuning instincts

aka build a better mouse-trap

even at my feeble trading exploits those tiny differences in action can really skew results , lucky misses , tragic part-filled orders and stocks that fall-over before my parachute target

it is a rough game .. but those very rare wins ...... can make the overall profit ( if you can survive long enough to score the winners )

Back to business, why Bband system? now let us turn our attention on a randomly selected stock from this forum discussion ( This is not a recommendation to buy and sell by the way so DYOR) It is just my missed opportunity as I run out $

5 pictures give us a clear sight that BBand is a well qualified candidate to merge with my systems Sometime it is late or early up to 7 bars. Not bad for $20 cost. The only thing that strike me with peculiarity is that this is just a system that comprise of turnover, modified traditional bband indi and 3 more basic ingredients. I need to celebrate this tonight
