I have a question and hopefully someone can answer.

Say today Tesla closed at 1030. I want to buy tesla stock if it goes above 1050 but not if gap up and opens at 1100. I am willing to pay any price between 1050 and 1060. Is it possible to submit such order in IBKR portal?

Set a limit stop buy order
at 1050 and you’ll be filled at 1050 or less once it reaches 1050
put a limit order at 1050 and you’ll be filled at anything trading under that.
before it reaches it unless it gaps over it.

Thanks for replying tech/a.

I am not sure if I get it right from your comment. Say the breakout pivot is at 1050 and I don't want to buy it unless it trades at or above 1050. How ever if it gaps above 1060 I would consider it is gone above the price I want to pay.

So only but at or above 1050 but not above 1060.

Stop limit will buy at any price above 10.50
If it gaps to 10.61 you’ll be filled at that.
Your setting a limit but with a condition
two conditions not 100% sure
