Reason being there seems to be more resources on amazon.om for stocks than futures.

To a degree.
Depends what it is your trying to learn.

Yes in terms of supply/demand and how that causes price movent.

Also helps understand market strucutre and how prices trend, consolidate etc.

They are all interelated, so the more markets youre familiar with, the better.

They are in the end of the day just an auction place, just different tempremants.

Id suggest stocks first.

Futures are really dangerous, especially for the new guys and stock markets are usually more forgiving.
It will give you enough time to understand risk, then when you are comfortable you can transfer your knowldge to the futures.
