Hi All ....

Well, I've been trading CFDs for quite a while now, firstly through CMC and for the past couple of years thru MFGlobal via Etrade. However, I'd like to give the eminis a whirl.

I've been practising on the demo Ninja Trader platform, with a Zenfire feed, compliments of Mirus Futures, and I'm really impressed with the platform. and the speed of the feed.

My problem is, where the heck in Oz can I find an online broker that will let me trade eminis using Ninja Trader and Zenfire ... or do I need to find a sponsor broker or something. I'm really confused here.

Regards ..... G-fer.

I wouldnt mind seeing some Aussie broker using Ninja Trader too.

I use eSignal data, MTPredictor RT charting on Ninja Trader and then Spectrum (Tricom) on another monitor to trade.
(Process is currently on hold due to time constraints but soon to be re-started due to no shorting anywhere else)

The Ninja Trader platform would be excellent to trade from, everything can be done from a right click on the chart.

Hopefully some Aussie brokers will see the light soon.

Re: Eminis .... which broker ???

IB is who you need.

And for god sake call them by their name, FUTURES. Not some airy fair marketing rubbish.............................. Please.

Re: Eminis .... which broker ???

Thanx Boggo, Trembling Hand.

Trembling Hand, do I have to use the IB trading platform (I don't like the demo much), or are you saying that I can use the Ninja Trader platform to deal futures trades thru IB?

The other question I have concerns minimum account balances. I've trolled through the brokers web sites and I keep finding references to margin requirements for trades that remain open overnight. Does this mean that a minimum margin has to be in the account even if I'm only trading for a couple of hours a day?

BTW .... there's a capital in God, and no capital in futures :) :)

Regards .... G-fer.

yes you can use Ninjatrader with IB's trader workstation. i've used it before. pretty good platform.

and minimum margin is required even for a couple hours a day

also you must have a minimum of US$2000 in account to make a trade.

Re: Eminis .... which broker ???

Thanks Wiseguy ...

Looks like $4500 US per ES (E-Mini (sorry TH:)) S&P 500) contract.

Are these margins lodged with the dealing exchange, or held by IM?

Costalotta eh ..... especially since I've been practising with 5 contracts ....

Perhaps I'll look at the local indexes instead ... beats staying up all night.

Any experiences with CKLocke anybody?? It looks like they use the original Saxo platform ??

If leverage up to your eyeballs is what you are after, I think openecry still have $500 daytrading margins for the ES, YM and NQ:2twocents

Re: Eminis .... which broker ???

Mmmm .....

Thanks all ... a man would be a fool not to heed all that advice eh !!!!!

Perhaps I should start paper trading just 1 ES instead of 5

Meanwhile, I'm still trying to find an Oz on line broker that will let me use Ninja Trader.

Re: Eminis .... which broker ???

I trade with Mirus and use Ninja. No problem a t all setting up an account with them. Had it open within 3 days.
If you PM I can provide a Mirus rep email address if you need it. I think he handles all the Australia stuff.
But Mirus do not have a feed for the SPI. How do I do trade this? Does IB have a data feed for this?
Regards

What are the costs to join IB?
Or do you just pay a transaction fee per contract?
Would I be able to use the IB feed into Ninja? Or must I use there platform?
Thanks for the reply Professor_Frink

No "Joining Fee"

You need $10,000 USD to open an account. yes IB links to NT

Re: Eminis .... which broker ???

I think I will just stick with Mirus and trade the US and Euro. $10,000US is a lot on top of my Mirus account, and can't be bothered swapping over accounts. Shame Mirus don't allow it.
Thanks once again though for all the help.

Re: Eminis .... which broker ???

Mirus have told me they expect to have SPI data during this year, maybe in the next few motnhs.
