slightly different meaning, as i read it decade is more duration than period in time
anyway, not English as foreign language thread.
BHP is up against a narrative, is still considered as Australian..so we own them.
and no amount of battery trucks, pink hair HR ladies or aboriginal sex, positive or so we are told, discrimination will help them IMHO

Reported this morning (17/09/25):

BHP will axe 750 jobs in its Queensland coal division in a response to weak coal prices and what it believes are high royalty rates in the state.

The Saraji South mine will be mothballed in November and BHP said it would also consider shutting the “FutureFit” academy that trains up newcomers, particularly women, to join the industry.

Mike Henry foreshadowed the Queensland division as being at risk of mine closures and job cuts at the August financial results.

The Queensland Labor government raised royalty rates in 2022 and the incumbent Liberal National government has refused to change them in this term.

that was probably forecast when NHC ( i hold ) m oved their head-quarters from QLD to NSW

Note the mention of apprenticeships. That implies some applicants got apprenticeships because they're girls and some boys missed out. Boys are already getting screwed over, discouraged and alienated in the higher education system.

Yes being photogenic and irish will not make a difference.

Yeah Joyce was not photogenic, but identity categories don't make good CEOs. It might look impressive for optics but it is not good business.

might help me get my next batch of shares lower , in the future , say sub $14

the recent mob have already been overwhelmed by the current ( and recently ) held assets , like QLD coal , the petroleum arm ..... a simple price for a simplified company

what was that Buffet quote , buy a company so good , even an ........



i hold and holding BUT am still very cautious , that phosphate arm might be a symptom , not an anomaly

i am more worried about shareholder returns

last month BHP was my sixth largest holding , down one place from the previous month ,

since i am unlikely to be photographed with any BHP CEO , i would rather $$$$ in the bank account
