Once again im sorry for my newbie questions.

Currently invested $1000 into VAS on vanguard. I could only buy up to 95% according to the website due to possible inflation.

When i log into my portfolio i have 10units at a price of $89.50.

Now i'm unsure what happens now? Do i just leave it alone now and see where it goes?

10 units at $89.50 = $895 plus brokerage, say $20 (?) = $915.00 leaving balance of $85.00 is. not enough for 1 more share. Your account will only be billed for $915.00.

Vanguard's website? or your broker's? i thought if you buy direct from the fund (as opposed to buying an ETF thru a broker) there is no brokerage payable, instead of paying brokerage the fund charges a slightly higher MER (and in Vanguard's case apparently a yearly maintenance fee of 0.2%).

Congratulations you know own a nice broad cross section of the Australian Economy, a portion of the profits from all the transactions happening right now at Coles and woolies, the minerals being mined around Australia, the interest being charged on home loans, rents from commercial and industrial property and 1000's of other transactions are now accruing to your benefit.

VAS is an ETF.

yeah i know, but the OP made a post in another thread that appears to be related to the corresponding managed fund, and also seems to be referring to Vanguard's website above rather than that of a broker, so it's not immediately clear (at least to me) whether they took the ETF or the managed fund route and accidentally got the names mixed up.

either way i agree it's a solid choice and the OP can rest easy and let it grow without stressing too much about the details.
