Just watched the first part of a two part series on SBS called Muslims like us.

Ten very different Australian Muslims brought together to live in a Sydney house and share their particular Muslim beliefs and experiences.
Really thought provoking. They clearly chose the talent for their diversity and capacity to explain themself. IMO well worth seeing talking about.
Anyone else seen it ?

Didn't see it , but I'm sure most are normal people trapped in a toxic culture.

Bit more complex than that. But yes overall they all come across as exceptionally normal.

One of the really interesting participants is a women who is very much a fundamentalist and dressed in full niqab. She's young, feisty and in fact threatens/challenges most of the other participants with her garb and fundamentalist approach.

Agreed, the toxic culture created by locals have made many Muslims retreat into enclaves. Maybe that's why I like to trade, so I can reduce my day-to-day exposure to toxic social life where no amount of compromise is enough to satisfy the demands of the monoculturalist
 

Nice try, but we are all responsible for our own actions and one of the basics of the rule of law.
 

There certainly are elements of anglo culture that is toxic, but our culture is put under the microscope a lot more than others for reasons of political correctness.

Given the relative numbers of Anglos and Muslims in the country anglos obvious cause more overall problems, but I think that there are elements of other cultures that some people would not want exposed.
 

I have Muslim friends and they don't push their religion or wear an arrogant uniform of defiance to parade it. They talk the same stuff that we all talk, same complaints about govt, traffic congestion, travels, the workplace dickheds, etc. Once they get in their cars they mighty talk about taking over the world from over trusting westerners, who knows.

On one hand we ask them to live the Oz dream, then on the other we demand they form sub cultures in the name of multiculturalism, demand they act as righteous vigilantes within those sub cultures and now we put a bunch of them into a petri dish house to see what culture pervades. Put a dozen Kiwis in a house and all of them will be lambing at the end of it!

We do know what they're up to in their cars and Mosques though don't we? All that pretence to be like us, alright, like you White people... all just an act to one day take over the country.

They've started already. Some Mohammad have changed it to "Moe", Ali is "Andrew".

While we're at it, the Indians are also in on the game... Their long names are just one or two initials! Hiding their parents true intention of what they aspire the kid to one day take over the world.

Then there's the Chinese with all English names starting with N, M, E, A but rarely V or other non-FengShui squarish typography. Some even change their surname to confuse (White) recruiters and senior managers. I mean, who would have thought Eric Clapton is a Chinese YongYuen Chan.
 


Spoken like a true patriot, friend. Remember the story about the Goldilocks and the Three Bears (probably Chinese origin like everything else) and the moral of the story about too hot, too cool and just right?

Males: Mongoloid 1448, Caucasoid 1408, Negroid 1334cc = brain size
Females: discount 10%
Gender Variants: politically too incorrect to measure
 
Did anyone else actually watch the show ? It would be good to have a discussion based on the program itself rather than other conceptions of Muslims?
