As a percentage of GDP (so, in a relative sense, just like I said) the united states is the 5th lowest importer in the world.

Aggregate/numerical total figures like you posted are almost meaningless in this context

The issue is usually that the bean counters override the engineers when push comes to shove.
The fact that they had to contend with a less than ideal substrate of almost pure sand, water table within two feet of the surface and situated in a flat area known for its tornadoes, hurricanes and flooding suggests a placement based on something other than engineering.
The placement of these data centres really should be right next to all those wind farms and solar arrays in Texas or Arizona.

i had guessed the solar panels ( and some wind turbines ) would be very close to the finished complex ( or integrated into the complex , especially the solar panels/battery packs )

interesting i would have thought China and India would have imported more ( did some value-adding and exported a hefty percentage of the imported goods )

The US banking system are jut not playing the games according to Trump rules.
If they can't bring the Indians in to the AmericanBusiness sphere, they will take the business into the Indian Sphere.
Next step will be to punish those companies that don't conform to trumps rules.

manufacturing ??

that would depend on investors thoughts on who will win in 2028 , manufacturing facilities don't become profitable overnight even if deploying robots extensively

In a somehat surpring move, the 2nd quarter GDP for Trump has been revised upwards from 3.3% to 3.8%.
Given that damn near every stat released seems to have post event revisions, it makes one wonder if they much use at all.
The fact that it was driven mainly by consumer spending is a bit concerning given all the other indicators on consumer debt limits, employment slowdown, and reduction in imports have been heading in the opposite direction.
maybe those extra rate cuts this year may not be on after all.
