Albo must have a hangover and not be able to front the media this morning. Not even a Pwong.

I daresay their response to the US bombing of Iranian nuclear bomb making facilities will be that they will focus on de-escalation.
Just heard the Coalition, Andrew Hastie, agree with that approach. Then during the show they announced the attack. (Insiders).
Hastings was really good on how we should approach the Americans. His attitude was that we are doing them a lot of favours, Pine Gap, the naval base, the new nuclear sub base.

He said we should be setting boundaries with the USA and pushing our case. Hastie, of course, is a war veteran and so understands the importance of our soldiers not being used.

He should be defence minister. Not Angus Taylor and Price, and I am sure if Ley got in, he would be put back there. Impressive guy.
He also could be a PM.

He's the most experienced Shadow person to comment on things Defence.

If he wanted that portfolio it's likely he would have got it. Maybe he wanted a break.

Angus is useless at about everything I'm afraid.

Do people here support Albo sending troops to Ukraine along with our $1,500,000,000?

All those who think its ok to send troops to Ukraine should be the very first on the plane.
Mick
Huh? Our troops are well paid with lots of benefits - it's what they sign up for. We must always meet our alliance obligations. IF the US says Australia needs to provide solidarity with some boots on the ground we must. To refuse is unthinkable.

What? Thats some inference.
Never said troops should refuse to go.
Ukraine war is not a war Australia should be involved in at all.
My point is that those who call for Oz troops to be sent to war zones never have to make any sacrifices themselves.
Its the socialism of human life.

We have a professional army, though. The chances of maiming and death at war is baked into the deal when someone signs up. Those who join would do so because they assess they get plenty out of the deal. Usually the bet pays off well. Very occasionally it does not.

I do agree it's rather different when someone signs up when the nation is under existential threat, knowing they will definitely go into harm's way. Often they're conscripts anyway. The ol' ANZACS were different men; it was a different time, a different Australia.

In 2025, Ole' 'Housing Commission' just awarded himself (on the quiet) a pay rise of +$21,260 p.a. (+3.5% p.a.). Plus allowances. Plus plenty of free plane trips for Airbus Albo.

Federal politicians will receive a pay rise of 3.5 per cent from July 1, bringing the base salary of an MP to $233,650.
The independent Remuneration Tribunal's decision means Prime Minister
Anthony Albanese will receive a base salary of roughly $607,500 and Opposition Leader Peter Dutton $432,250.

Albanese is the 4th highest paid PM/President in the world ..look it up.

This while single mothers are living in their cars. And pensioners are freezing in their living rooms, unable to pay the power bills.

Yeah, maybe Sussan Ley will turn down the pay rise and give it to the pensioners. LOL.

Point to a time when a Coalition government did this:

slashes-crossbench-staff/101182742
Anthony Albanese has sparked a war with crossbench MPs and senators by slashing their parliamentary staff entitlement by three-quarters.

Key points:
In the last parliament, crossbench MPs and senators were entitled to four parliamentary staff
Mr Albanese has reduced that allocation to one parliamentary staff member
He said the government intended to increase resourcing to the Parliamentary Library to support crossbench parliamentarians
The Prime Minister has emailed a letter to crossbenchers to inform them that in addition to their four electorate staff, they will only be entitled to one parliamentary staff member...

Get it right. Ole' 'Housing Commission' didn't award himself the payrise, the independent Remuneration Tribunal did. Would have happened no matter who the PM was.
