Short, Medium, Long Term - Define?

In discussions related to the sharemarket we often hear the words "short term, medium term and long term". Often there is nothing in the article to reference these terms against and they really mean very little to me. Is there an accepted time frame for each of these terms? Are we talking about days, weeks, months or years?

Day trading----One day
Short term----Days to a few weeks.
Medium Term ---A few weeks to months.
Long term Mutiple------months to years.
Buy and Hold or investing-----Indefinite.
