I have 3260 shares in AGL & their dividend is 0.41 cents. However, I only received $709.60 worth of dividends. I wonder how they calculate it?

Did you own all of those shares before the “ex dividend date”, or did you purchase some more recently?

I

It says it is not franked. It is ordinary fully paid. I believe I have added my tfn when I created my bank account.
But does the AGL share registry have your TFN? If not they may have withheld some tax, check your dividend statement, it should have been emailed to you today.

If you haven't received the dividend notification by email, that is a sign that maybe you didn't fill out the tax form either, because that is where you normally give them your email address.

I didn’t receive an email from AGL yet..

Oh I see, so I will get it back as a refund when I do my tax return. Thanks for your help, much appreciated
Yes, you will get a refund if it turns out your total tax owed from all your income streams is less that what has been withheld from your various income streams.

the company sends the money they withheld to to government, and they will either refund you what they have or ask you to pay more depending on how much you have earned else where.
