Australian Federal Election 2025

FWIW my :2twocents

Will be voting later this arvo, am a swinging voter but for the first time ever, I'll be placing Greens, ALP and LNP last on the green ballot. Also for the first time ever on the white ballot, I'll not be giving any votes preferential or otherwise to any of those three parties.

My way of saying none of that mob are worthy of my endorsement.

I also plan to watch Antony Green's last election coverage on the ABC tonight, sipping on some fine Isle of Islay single malts with my partner.

@Craton just a gentle reminder that the first vote cast is the one that gets the $2.40 so generously delivered by our elected representatives. In my case a minnow got the loot and then who I wanted got 2-12 on the ballot paper.

Got my democracy sausage this morning.

What a sorry bunch of losers and miscreants there were on my ballot paper. :(

Was a matter of putting 1-6 from the least worse to the worst.

Well done on coming sixth Comrade Bandt.

Unfortunately, my vote means nothing in the Marxist seat of Melbourne.

@Sean K But Sean did you give your 1st pick and the princely sum of $2.40 to a minnow wanna be as a protest vote

This is the problem.

We're choosing between bad and worse, neither side could in any way be described as good.

Even the mainstream commercial media are openly admitting that at this point. :2twocents
I'd say Chalmers knows what he's doing, he is way above Angus Taylor for competence imo.

Other than that there is a depressing lack of talent on both sides.

Albo is a professional politician, Dutton has some advantage over him there, having briefly held down a real job, but Dutton can't put a policy together to save his life.

Very disappointing.

@SirRumpole The trouble is Sir R, as I see it, we pay our politicians (Organ Grinders) and mostly get the performing monkey instead.
Anyway I guess the East Coast voting is now closed and we still have 2 hours to go.

Dutton loses his seat. The Liberal Party is in disarray. The Conservatives are dead.

I'm moving to Argentina.

Doing some initial research, I think I could buy a vineyard in Mendoza and get away from this crap.

Maybe @wayneL could come and look after the horses.

I'm almost resigned to having Australia's energy security decimated over the next three years at this point.
On that there was no choice.

It already has been comprehensively wrecked by the actions of successive governments over an extended period from both sides of politics and neither side has yet faced reality there.

Same with housing. Neither side intends fixing it. :2twocents

Bandt is in trouble. Going to be close!

Looks like 6 more years of Labor at least.

I hope they get a Senate majority as well, no excuses then.
Absolutely, then they have two terms of Govrrnment and can't blame anyone else for the outcomes, which will be brilliant.

It doesn't get better than this IMO.
