ASX 200 Discussion

Snippets from WEEKEND Market Matters

"We continue to believe the ASX200 will climb through 2025, but as we saw last week, it needs a “rest” after an intense and volatile few months:
We continue to anticipate the ASX will rally through 2025 with a break to new all-time highs, looking increasingly likely before Christmas.
Overseas markets were again mixed on Friday night. Europe performed the best, with the EURO STOXX 50 closing up +0.4% and the UK FTSE +0.3%. In the US, it was a more muted affair as indices surrendered early gains to close lower. The S&P 500 retreated 0.1% and the Dow 0.3% as stocks limped into the weekend ahead of US-China talks, with investors wary of news flow over the weekend.
The SPI Futures are calling the ASX 200 to open up +0.2% on Monday, with a 40c jump by BHP in the US set to be supportive."

ASX 200 52 week high Stocks.....No Lows, just a Bit of extra info.

Woohoo! Maybe a bit of drama today - S&P500 up 3.2%, although there's a pall over mine coz gotta see the ogreish dentist.
Mostly covered by @Dona Ferentes but none the less, a tweak or two:

  • Goodbye gold: Gold prices dropped 2.7% overnight to US$3,230, the lowest since April 15. This triggered a 7.4% selloff in the Gold Miners ETF (GDX), likely pressuring local gold names to open significantly lower.

The ASX just a few minutes past the opening ball and is looking good on an upward spiral. Unfortunately at this point in time I have missed on a couple of buys I have in place, waiting to see if there will be a slight drop before the bounce back up again.
Watchlist is all green so far.

Surprised to see that my buy for CHN has been activated even though my price is not showing as the low so far. Happily, in profit and will flog them off shortly for a reasonable profit.
