Overseas taxes when trading the NYSE?

Hi, I'm totally new to stock investing.. Looking to invest some money in NYSE stocks. I'm only going to be investing about $2,000.

I have found a broker for Australians that lets us trade the NYSE, however I need to fill out a "W-8BEN" tax form.

Does anyone know the tax implications of trading the NYSE? Do I need to file a US tax return or anything like that, or do I just handle it all on the Aussie tax return side?
