Yes, it is confirmed, the fight of the century has been decided.

Hard fight to call, i think it will go to a decision.

Unfortunately most proffesional boxers don't have a very good record when comming out of retirement, hopefully this will not be a dissapiontment like the recent green jones fight.

One thing is for sure, this fight will be bigger then tiger woods call girls list.

Should be a big fight.
I've lost interest in boxing since getting more into MMA.
However this fight has enough uncertainty and class that it should bring in the crowds.
Pacquaio's in his prime, I think he'll win by decision.

Whats the bet floyd has been training for this fight for the last 18 months?

there has been discussion of it for quite some time now.

I do enjoy MMA as well. The only thing i dont like about it is when we get two jiujitsu proffesionals on the floor for 15 minutes. That is very boring.

Confirmed is it? wow

I always thought Floyd would dodge, but still hoped he would take it up.
WIll be an amazing fight - I cannot wait

re: MMA: most of it ends up on the ground, but if you've practised JJ, you will be able to appreciate the technicality
Pity, that there is alot of wrestling and BJJ professionals - I'd like to see some old school JJ proponents

I understand it, i just don't appreciate it. I practiced a small amount of it with muay thai. I also understand cricket, i dont appreciate that either.

lol
Sometimes comments on the net don't come out right, I was speaking more in third person - IOW I appreicate the technicality/difficulty

Absolutely, i dont think people understand just how taxing it is on the body.

Very few people would be able to do it for 15 minutes, take alot out of you!

Just think to how exhausted you get when you wrestle for fun with a freind for 30 seconds, you need the rest of the day off!

lol, yeh, the wrestling on the ground in MMA is what turns me off too. I like the concept, appreciate the technicality, but just don't find it entertaining.

I think the technicals in a great pure boxer is much more fun to watch, the way some can go an entire fight without even barely being hit.

For the record, this fight is not a done deal yet, it is not official, nor is it signed. That's all that counts.

My pick is Mayweather by close decision.

It is done, various sources, including the manager of mayweather and manny have confirmed this. The only things that aren't confirmed are the purses. The date is set, and contracts don't get signed until monies are agreed upon.

As they say, lets get ready to rumbleeeeeeeeeee

Rumor has it is that Mayweather has had tax trouble, so he decided to make a comeback.

I don't think Mayweather's heart is in it as much as Manny's is.

Or punch out pumpkins:D. He sure touched Cotto alright!

so pumped, i could jizz
:bananasmi

I'll believe it when I see it. Knowing Money, I wouldn't be surprised if he pulls some dodgy $hit. Apologies in advance if anyone takes offence, here's a joke I found on some boxing forum (with my own tweak):

Floyd Mayweather goes to the doctor and is worried sick before the big fight.

"Doc, what IS wrong with me?! Everytime I look in the mirror, I feel incredibly aroused but at the same time I feel like throwing up!!"

"Oh that's perfectly normal for you, Mr. Mayweather."

"Why is that Doc?"

"That's because you're a chicken$hit pu$$y"

Guess you all know where I stand on whom I want to win. Perversely tho', I almost wanna vote (publicly) against Pac because I'm afraid I'll jinx him:eek:. I've done so for the past 3 fights and not likely to change!

RE: MMA
I don't mind the BJJ if, IF, they make attempts to counter/reverse/scramble. eg. Tyson Griffin v Clay Guida. It's only when the (inexperienced ones) stay static and think that they can get out by pure strength --> stalemate, that I get annoyed. Sorta like how I always got so frustrated watching Tyson (Mike that is) meekly get tied up without putting up any sort of fight.

lukeaye - I'm watchign keenly with jaw agog. The tiger DOES have a harem! Then again, when you reach Tiger or Manny level, you probably have women throwing themselves at you (Fingers crossed Jinkee doesn't do an Elin on Manny, who's having his own girl problem now).

mazzatelli - I often wonder about that too (tho' Karo Parysian(spelling?) does execute some beautiful hip throws). If there so few traditional JJ moves, it begs the question - mebbe it's not useful? My background is (minimal) Aikido and Wing Chun, both of which I've gotten flak for ("<Expletives>, those are CRAP martial arts!"). Lately, I've been on a hankering for muay thai, based mainly on (combat) infatuation with Anderson Silva.

Eep. Getting post back on track. IMHO, if Mayweather wins, it'll be by decision, almost zero chance of KO. If Manny wins, 80% it'll be stoppage. Sorry, can't bring myself to vote (irrational reason above).

If you think floyd can't knockout manny, look at the fight between floyd and marquez.

Manny and him are virtually identical in fighting styles, and floyd made him look like a beginner. Manny also beat him, but i belive the decision was split? I may stand corrected.
