Trump 2.0

"Lawn" order is a winning point for any party that runs it for as long as they keep their own yard in order...

Bob Carr, David Crisafulli.. many others

Have you turned 100 and gone back to zero? ;)
Yeah I put a "fool stop" on it to make it harder for wayne to complain about my choice of login handle.

Totalitarianism minus one...

I wonder what Tommy 2 Tone is doing lately ? Still ringing Jenny ?

Trump. Fascism, persecution, urban terror and people who stand up and fight .
Also why Capitalism has NFI idea of why someone would make a million user ap without making a million bucks on it.

The interview is a killer.

The Ice alert app founder sparking fury in Trump officials: ‘Pam Bondi said I better watch out? Please.’

After IceBlock’s launch in April, Kristi Noem attacked developer Joshua Aaron and his wife was fired from the DoJ. The attention has only led to more raids being reported

For many undocumented immigrants living in the US, the constant threat of Ice raids has turned their homes into prisons. Leaving the house to go to work, school, buy groceries or the doctor’s office all carry unthinkable risks.

It’s a problem that Joshua Aaron wanted to tackle. A former indie musician (he played bass in 2000s buzz band The Rosenbergs and later fronted his own group Stealing Heather) turned app entrepreneur, he set about making an app that could spot Ice and alert people, the same way drivers let other drivers know about traffic stops on Waze.

Launched without fanfare and with no intention of profit in April 2025, IceBlock offers real-time alerts about the presence of agents – while, Aaron claims, fiercely guarding the anonymity of its users. Within two months, the app had soared on the charts in Apple’s app store – prompting the US homeland security secretary, Kristi Noem, to attack the app and its founder, claiming they were “obstructing justice”. She claimed she wanted to work with the Department of Justice to try to prosecute CNN for reporting on the app.

It looks as though Trump's offer to buy Greenland has stirred up some enthusiasm to fix the place up, they are actually putting in a water supply to the houses in the town I visited, the locals are as poor as church mice going by the state of the housing.
I asked the local pub owner do they have septics or deep sewage, the answer was neither. No wonder the fish are well fed.
On the subject of fish, I asked him does the local economy rely a lot on the fishing industry, he said yes but Iceland owns the fishery. On the subject of heating, they rely on diesel heating, I asked have they tried wind generators and he said the wind and blizards get so fierce in winter, they get too much storm damage.
It certainly is a desolate place, makes Perth look like paradise IMO. ;)
Both Greenland and Iceland are interesting places to visit, I certainly got the impression that if Denmark doesn't spend some money to stimulate the economy, one of the major powers will. :xyxthumbs

From Google:
Greenland faces a notable poverty challenge despite being rich in resources, with a poverty rate around 17%. This is higher than in neighboring Nordic countries like Denmark and Norway. The island's economy struggles, with its GDP lagging behind the Faroe Islands. While Greenland has a relatively low population, poverty affects a significant portion, with many lacking access to essential services like adequate sanitation and water.

Crime is a Republican winning point. Democrats generally are viewed as weak on crime. Probably to shift focus on Trumps run of failures
I think there is no big fascist plan on this.
The BBC point out that the drive to the golf course from Trump’s lodging is full of homeless people living in tents.

It's just that he doesn't want to see them.

No one wants to see them. They should take a hike down to the Soylent Green facility and create some social value. Or maybe reclaim a sense of shame and guilt and stop stinking nice places up for others. If not, then legal force should be used to relocate them to monitored tenting or cardboard box spaces. They also create a sense of insecurity due to some of them resorting to violence. A return to mandatory labour in the cotton and tobacco fields is an option that could be explored. Or how about cleaning up by hand publicly deposited faeces? Let's get humanely creative with practical solutions!

A lot of them will have poor paying jobs - burger flipping, nail colouring, hair dressing, retail. The minimum wage is pretty low.

Setting up a concentration camp fenced off from view from the public with access out only with a work slip or job application form might be a way for the USA to go.

Soylent green if caught without work slip?

A lot of it is just mental health.

Like the Covid Camps?
No, firstly no such thing, secondly, more like Gaza. Freedom within but can't leave to work externally without permission. (Of course I am meaning historically).

Of course I am being tongue in cheek, there is no way the American taxpayer would want to pay to set this up.

The accepted method is the gated community where poor have to pass a checkpoint to enter to work. This is what will happen.

Regan closed all the places that looked after the mentally ill….
They had turned into abuse centres by the time Regan came along. It actually started years before Regan. In fact JFK dropped the ball.

Regan just accelerated what had already started. Both sides are in bed together.

Seriously, for the life of me, I can't understand why the U.S is not massively expanding some version of what Arnold is supporting here. I could live like this - I have lived for extended periods in less than this when fruit-picking or waiting to get a house. A room in some of the wog rooming houses I've resorted to in the past are way worse than this.

Nah Regan just turned people out onto the streets seen it 1st hand when in the US in the 80s it was widely known and most Australians I met were horrified

I dunno... I'm sure you'd whinge just as much if they went back to how it was before that: i.e., involuntarily committing people to loony farms, shock therapy, lobotomies. I can imagine the howls from the left if they decided to (re-)institutionalise a ton of people. Your fellow SJWs were agitating hard to end mental institutions. They got what they wanted. Perhaps it was for the best.

But sure, with more money more could always be done, for everyone. Limited funds and unlimited wants is the way of things. No government has unlimited funds for social projects. The pie is only so big.

To quote from Wikipedia's Reaganomics article, "The results of Reaganomics are still debated. Supporters point to the end of stagflation, stronger GDP growth, and an entrepreneurial revolution in the decades that followed."

Anyway since it's the emperor's thread.... TRUMP IS THE MAN!!! 🤙
