My best friend is married to an Indian girl, she is extremely smart, engineer, gone almost to the top of a company.
Pretty sure she votes Liberal. Pretty sure she doesn't like Price now. Racists are everywhere.

When we all went to Uni together, back in the mid 80s, no one called her names or said anything racist....ever.
I definitely think it has got worse. people marching in the streets actually stating that Indians should go home.

Price won't be going though. Gina Reinhardt's pick and has got her back.

(Not sure why this is on the worldwide Civil unrest thread. Civil unrest within the Liberal party?)

I doubt there's much in it, at the moment. But beware: if you believe in such a thing as an enduring national spirit that spans long stretches of time, something that has a sort of life of its own like an egregore, the French seems to have a habit of eventually snapping and obliterating in a bloody way whatever is in their sights at the time - think Charles Martel (the Hammer), think the Revocation of the Edict of Nantes, and of course the French Revolution.

Not that I agreed with his views but at least he got out and about and debated with his opponents.

I have to respect that, better than just skulking away in the coward's castle of Sky News.

Charlie Kirk’s assassination risks igniting further chaos in an already divided country

I've only seen snippets of his debates and discussions, but he seemed quite reasonable and looked like he used facts and stats. It is extremely sad and disturbing that someone has decided to murder another person because they could not have a civil discusion.

Mental health problems are out of control in the US and Australia.

The killing of Charlie Kirk is a shocking and deplorable act against a man engaged in the exchange of ideas at a location where free speech should be most encouraged – a university campus.​

Speaking at a press conference to address the killing, Utah Governor Spencer Cox declared that “this is a political assassination.”​

“Our nation is broken,” he said. “(Kirk) comes on college campuses and he debates. That is foundational to the formation of our country, to our most basic constitutional rights.”​

“When someone takes the life of a person because of their ideas or their ideals, then that very constitutional foundation is threatened.”​

Kirk’s death now risks inflaming the already deep political divisions in US society and igniting further chaos, including on university campuses and among young people. His killing will likely be remembered as a symbol of America’s growing internal conflict.​
 
All this makes Australia's migration marches look like kindergarten.

Maybe we are lucky that we have a stable centrist government (and Opposition) that doesn't engage in hate politics.

The more extreme the politicians, the more extreme are the population.

A good Christian man was assassinated for talking to people, in front of thousands of students, in front of his pregnant wife, a father of two young girls.

For sure, lunacy is not exclusive to the left, but if we look at all of the most recent incidences, mass shootings, assassinations, attempted assassinations etc... do the simple 3rd grade arithmetic. The overwhelming majority AND THE CELEBRATION OF SUCH, is from the left.

Look up our own psycho, Abbie Chatfield.

You might find it somewhat different from your left wing echo chamber of the Grauniad and "Their" ABC.

When kids are butchered in school shootings the right gun lobby say “ let’s pray “ then the rwnj’s claim it never happened making money off those claims while other rwnj’s go after the parents….

Moralising about shootings in the US by conservatives or Christian’s just doesn’t fly

Like gilet jaune, these protests always taken over by the islamists from the suburbs looking to loot a few Nike shops with full complicity of police and some agents provocateurs , and the Trotskyists on the other end and unless you are a thug or a communist..any difference? you will not participate.
Has been going on for a few decades and a nice way to control the majpority and give more power for the dictator du jour
