CPI figures out today actually show a fall in inflation for the US.
Services inflation falling big time, goods inflation flat.
Energy Prices hasve fallen significantly which has been one of the drivers.
Should give Powell every reason to cut rates again.

Yes copying from Mordekei on Chimes in exile.

And the commentators cheered the lower US inflation figures yesterday but forgot to look at the detail.

It was down because:

Airflights - because their tourism industry has collapsed

Petrol - because the oil price has collapsed due to demand reduction

Basically all non discretionary items were up and the discretionary items were down.

Anyone remotely economically aware knows that US tariff will bring inflation , and that strong inflation is needed to smash the debt in the US.
Read my various posts on my view on how this is expected to work
Does not mean it will but:
Tariffs for tax money, high inflation for debt reduction, illegal immigration reversed for full employment
Low inflation will only be temporary imho.

I have less faith that they know what they are doing.
There will be stagflation.

and just perhaps the US populace may start to wake up to the fact that are/will be screwed as time draws on.
Will a vast majority be paupers in their own country by year's end??

they were always screwed maybe way back to the second Obama term , it was only a question of when they would wake up they were already in 'poverty ' ( because of heavy personal debt ) AND they were the majority not an oddity .

deflationary influences still being recorded.
Producer prices fell by the biggest margin since the covid shutdown.
Perhaps the tariffs will restore their upward trend.

THE US BLS has postponed the expected release of the annual inflation figures.
It could be aploy to force the trump regime to give it more money as they keep sayong they are hopelessly understaffed.
Given the poor quailty of the data that has been coming out for the past few years, I doubt that more staffing will improve the quality.
