UK Debt Doom Loop

What are these forecasts based on?

Putin and Trump have forced Europe to increase defence spending.

Would the Conservatives decrease defence spending and look weak in the face of a Russian threat?

I doubt it.
the Conservatives were too busy stalling/reversing Brexit ( a very brave move that had a tiny chance of avoiding this carnage

the current Conservatives were/are part of the problem

one might increase defense efficiency by just stopping spending on grandiose projects they have two aircraft carriers ( not counting Cyprus .. the island ) which may or may not manage to sail into an international warship , AND they are talking conscription ( including women ) because the public are unwilling to enlist .,

Russia has already told them the plan to subdue the UK ... a nuclear torpedo at the shoreline raising a 500 meter tall tsunami , tornado fighters and Challenger tanks will not stop that

currently the RAF are too busy refueling Israeli airstrikes and playing in NATO war-games

so the inflation plus border closure attempt by Trump.
is there any other way?
even if budgets were balanced expenses/income, the sheer levels of debt interests destroy any hope to have a reduced debt by year end...
so just let inflation run
not to mention the justifiably reduced appetite for gilts ( bonds ) and concerns the UK will go for IMF bailout ( the second one )
