The state of the economy at the street level

traveling through Japan and now Korea, I can say that Australia is in a economic decline. We pay more for just about everything, our transport system is extremely bad, cost of fresh food is extremely high, our industrial relations regulations are problematic, and on it goes.

Trying to make money from raw materials alone is a recipe for disaster.

Apparently our pollies are oblivious to this.
No longer do we ride on the sheep's back but on the raw materials trains.

as many here , i am aware of world market oil price, quite low at around $63 USD a barrel .
considering inflation and a collapsing USD value, this is pretty low
yet looking at unleaded 91 price on the sunny coast this morning: 2.09 aud a litre...
have I missed something? New taxes?

In Brisvegas too frog, can be 40-50c difference just along Wynnum road between servos.

Please note everyone I am a re-located New South Welshman, and will never ever be a queenslander no matter how long I live here, 15 years and counting

as you guys know, i am not a positive kind off guy looking at Australia.
i loved Australia and its people, not do sure i still love much of the later.
i added a thread Thread 'Australian economics good news thread' https://www.aussiestockforums.com/threads/australian-economics-good-news-thread.38661/
so that people afraid of my doom and gloom can post their glittering good economic news showing our country progress
@ShareSuccess , this is inspired by your comment!
Keen for your facts and number inputs.

Probably a bit off the thread but......
I watched Spotlight on Ch 7 last night hosted by Liam Bartlett.
The long and short of it is the Chinese Embassy in Canberra is more alert and ready than our collective defence forces, and the blame for this lies squarely at the feet of successive Governments.

Yeah I find it hard to explain this type of crime as fundamentally economic. This is NOT the trope of the poor farm boy or orphan stealing a loaf of bread for the precious calories needed for survival, and then being transported to Australia as a convict for the term of his natural life. Instead this is low IQ, low impulse control, low trait conscientiousness and agreeableness stuff.

Free range society, where the individual decides what is acceptable, not the leaders.
Interesting times, it is common where I live for people to walk out with trolleys full of groceries and ignore staff calls for them to stop.

I know, man. I went through a period of binge watching this fella MrSikkant's stuff on YouTube - he has a great one on Mandurah hehehe:

and a narrative, social media of EU shop storming by the poor "refugees"
it is not stealing, it is sharing of the common property: no borders, no boundaries
