The completely useless irrelevant thread

My tax life is simple. A few dividend advices from LICs, a couple of AMIT Tax statements from ETFs, relevant statements advising of interest received together with private health fund details plus information on donations. Submitted this morning to the accounting firm using its client portal.

Then waiting to find out how much I am required to pay - franking credits and the foreign income tax offset doesn't cover it all.

I probably could do the return myself but I had a go at the ATO's online tax simulator once and concluded it's a bag of poop. Outsource the task and do something I enjoy.

just getting the necessary paperwork and some basic figuring prepared is more than enough for me.
I find the bean counters fees are too bad, only thing is that it takes a veryyyyyyyy longgggggggggggggg time for them to prepare it.
They are still sitting on 23-24 return.

Purchased a camera strap to pretty it up and give the (false) impression I actually know what I am doing.

Threading those rings through the lags on the camera took ages they are so fiddly.

When I am in my dotage and in age care I hope this is one task given to us residents. Hours of fun to be had.

@Bellcose And when that task is completed at some time later, someone will undo all that you have taken so long to do, in a few seconds, and give it back so you can do it all over again.

It has already happened. I handed it back to me.

The small protective tag which covers the camera fitting is awkward. However, after many frustrating attempts I finally achieved success of keeping that protective tag in place and threading the ring.

Sadly i placed the protective tag upside down and it was unable to be rotated. So I was forced to bloody well undo my work and start again.

As I said, hours of fun.

@Bellcose And if I am not mistaken you haven't been placed in aged care yet.
Perhaps this camera strap may send you to the home for the mentally impaired

There have been a proliferation of these around the neighbourhood, every kid seems to be indulged

Local Hogan's across the road, 3 months into rental, recently acquired one. There's been wet weather and their 14year old has ripped up the verge. And a 6 month lease - whoops

Just the neighbour that every one must have.

The invented words 'amblygonosphericalls', 'extrinsecall', 'grediftal', 'bagred-iffiu', 'pubkegdaxesh' and 'obliquangular' all appear in the space of one paragraph in Trissoetras, a mathematical treatise,, by Thomas Urquhart, in 1645

Such creativity had him establish his own language in his book Logopandecteision. It didn't catch on.

He also translated the works of Rabelais, to some acclaim.

Fortunately for us we have plenty of generators to keep the place lit up like a Christmas Tree.
Biggest thing is to keep the fridges and freezers going.

Pulling the plug on the computer line as more crashing is now forecast, plus the eventful light show that is attached.

Sceamin' Lord Sutch's late-1960s album Lord Sutch and Heavy Friends was named in a 1998 BBC poll as the worst album of all time, a status it also held in Colin Larkin's book The Top 1000 Albums of All Time, despite the fact that the Jimmy Page, John Bonham, Jeff Beck, Noel Redding and Nicky Hopkins performed on it and helped write it.

It would appear that the Good Capt has perhaps made some utterances which for the bulk of us are not privy too.
