The completely useless irrelevant thread

but did the pipes freeze?

No although the water in the birdbaths did. Very funny watching those which slept in them that night flapping trying to get out.

Oh, and the hose was frozen. Luckily I didn't need it to get the ice off the car. Mainly due to it being in the garage.

Yandex Search is the largest search engine in Russia with an estimated 72% market share in Russia and a 2.8% share worldwide.

Yandex Maps has blurred out military sites on its maps of Moscow — and basically exposed them. The blurred spots now make it painfully obvious exactly where defense industry facilities are located. Meanwhile, everything remains visible on Google Maps.

When I was a lad in the NE of Yorkshire, my Dad had to wrap the down pipe from the cistern to the bowl in winter. the toilet was located down the back yard and it got to -20c.
I don't know why he bothered my brother and myself just peed out of the bedroom window, onto the street, I was 8 years old at the time. :wheniwasaboy:
Western Australia is heaven, compared to some places. 🤣

And the unsuspecting pedestrians below just thought it was a sprinkle from the heavens.

Devastated once again as I fruitlessly peruse the Kings Birthday Honours list in the vain hope that my name appears.

@mullokintyre WHAT, would have thought that you would have a definite shoe-in for a gong.
So rather than being able to lay "Sir' before your moniker it will still just be plain Mr at the start and Esquire at the end.

that works for some. Young Jimmy Grot didn't transition well to Mr James Grot, Esq.

I've heard them called many things but never "tropical toes". His jumpers are full of "mouth" holes as well. Murdoch fired all the sub editors, so this sort of garbage is common in the Townsville bulletin.

WTH is a SENSITIVE razor blade for shaving purposes? There's too many options in the modern world. I have normal (Caucasian) skin - not like leather and also not like an infant. I guess the difference between sensitive and standard of the same brand 's price point is sort of like comparing bottled water quality, i.e.: no meaningful difference whatsoever. Probably all the more moot as I'm a committed five blade user.

now my nerdy family member - male - reckons shaving with a pink woman's razor is better than a bloke's blade, because it's designed for their legs n armpits.
