The completely useless irrelevant thread

Just read news.com.au and you will regularly see such clangers. Proofreaders are apparently no longer a thing.

I myself am a regular linguistic transgressor, but my excuse is that I failed English and only fell in love with the language in later life.

However, it is supposed that having a degree in journalism would presuppose either a degree in English, or at least some units in the same.
 
The one that gets right up my left nostrel is the use of the 1950'd beatnik talk, "like".
It seems today that every second person has to use this word several times in a sentence.
Well like, I thought I would like, end this post with well like.
 
Did you hear about the science experiment where a guy was quick-chilled to absolute zero?

Bloody freezing this morning in Townsville. 16 C . My Ug Boots are at the far end of the bedroom. Life sucks.
