Hello,

One of the stocks I'm in, FAS, is about to issue loyalty options. It says the record date is 8th March.. what is the earliest I can sell out and still get the options? It takes 3 days for settlement right? Am I still recognised as the owner of the shares 3 days after I sell, or am I instantly not the owner the minute I sell?

Thanks!

Re: Record Date

I'm trying to find more details on this also.
From what I've read you can sell after the ex-entitlement date, which like you said, is normally about 4 trading days before record date.
I am still trying to find definite answer.
In your case you could probably ring the company and ask.
