Hi all,

I'm looking to find an answer to this question on the ComSec site, but having no luck so far...

If I was to place an order for 5000 shares @ $1 and it gets partially filled (i.e. someone buys 2500 worth) and there is half the order remaining which gets filled on the day after, do I get charged 2 sets of brokerage fees ($19.95 for each 2500 trade)?

Unfortunately I tried searching for an answer on the ComSec website, but I had no luck so far... and there are easily a few hundred threads on ComSec here, so the search wasn't really helping in this case.

Appreciate any info on this.

Thanks

...fail.

I found it immediately after. Here if anyone is interested:

To flesh it out a little further....

You can also change prices and quantities (multiple times) and will not get charged anymore brokerage so long as you don’t exceed a brokerage threshold. If you do cross the thresholds you get charged the extra, ie if you go above 10K you get charged an extra $10 and if you go above 25K you go onto 0.12% per dollar.

In your example of an initial 5000 @ $1 with 2500 initially filled – you could amend your order outstanding from 2500 to 7800 at $0.95 and if that is filled you would not be charged anymore brokerage as you total order would still be under 10K ($2,500 & $7,410)

If you changed it to 7800 at $1.00 you would get charged $10 if filled as the total order value becomes $10,300. You could increase the second parcel up to 22,500 @$1.00 and still only be charged the same $10 for the second fill as the total would be under $25K.

You have until expiry date (30 days or an Ex date) for subsequent part of the order to fill.

The ability to manipulate part filled orders is very handy with some stocks.
