... from 10pm to 5am. This has been doing the rounds on the social media rumour mill.

It doesn't seem to be true from what I can see. But I'm suspicious. Is this the govt floating a thought bubble to see the reaction?

It would make more sense to put that time curfew on some young blokes I know, They drive like maniacs after dark.

I know me and all my mates used to when we were young

Most old folks out at that time are usually on their way to the hospital for a medical emergency

All we have to do is look at car insurance rates, every insurer has extra premiums and/or extra excesses for younger driver.

None have those penalties for older drivers, just follow the money for the truth

The key to most magic tricks is to distract the audience's attention from what you're actually doing, getting them to look at something, anything, else other than how the trick is done.

Other forms of live entertainment such as theatre and even music make use of the same concept. Intentionally focusing the audience's attention not so much because they want them to be looking at whatever they're focused on, but simply to avoid the audience looking at something else.

Now if a magician, actor or a musician does that then OK, fair enough, I'm there to see the show and the deception isn't doing any harm. All good, I get it, they don't want the audience to know where the rabbit came from or to pay attention to the fact there's nobody actually playing a triangle and that bit's recorded.

When politicians use that trick however it's far more concerning. ;)

Smoke and mirrors to some degree.

I would agree with the premise that the over 60's should not drive 10pm-5am unless they are going to or returning from something important, like church or a brothel.

How about the pub after closing time. It may take a while to get the correct bearings for a home ward trip.

It's amazing no matter how much the message is repeated, yet people don't heed

"Don't Drink and Drive"

- if you hit a pothole, you may spill some.

also, flooded roads have a habit of biting you on the bum.
