I know for some it might be personal and don't want to share but for others that do what is the most you made from a single trade.

For short term trades say maximum of 1-2months.

Mine was buying and selling CFD (SBM) made $11k in 2 days.

April/May 2009 - ILU - in the trade for 20 days and made 782 bucks...those were the days.

current FY, mostly short-term:

OM PnL.gif

probably my best result ever took over a year:

WP PnL.gif

Most profit, single trade:
Gindalbie Metals GBG Sold 20Mar2006 $4,319.07

Worst single trade:
Magnesium Intl.(exPima) MGK Sold 13Jan2006 -$8,228.39

Stoopidest game in the world. :p:

Selling Linc energy for 129% profit in 21 days in January last year ($2,380 profit).
And I over-rode my mechanical system rules to get that, after only have started trading it 2 months earlier. Does that mean I was smart, dumb or lucky
(suspect it might have been a 10%, 20%, 70% mixture)

My highest profit was 258% in one day on FGE. I didn't have much money to risk on the day trade. I was being quite cautious. I only took a small amount of money to it. I didn't quite make back what I lost on FGE when it lost 93% of its value, but I made back enough to make the loss within acceptable bounds.

My bad.

Mines actually 10k.

120,000 SBM @ 54.5c. That's $600 a tick with $65k face value.

What's that in relation to your account size and what was your stop loss?

Do you think you were lucky or good or both?

12,300 Euros on a DAX futures CFD (10 Euros per point exposure) was my single most profitable trade.

Given that this trade was completed on my single worst ever trading day, I was not in the mood for celebration.

More luck I think. However I had been following SBM for 2 months before I put in that trade. It was hovering from 50cents to 75cents, I jumped in at the lower end and rode it.

At the time I had $200.000 or so in my account. What happened was I was holidaying in Italy and executed the trade via iphone app actually seen go into profit by $16k I tried to close the trade but my net stuffed up, by the time I called to close trade via phone I lost 6k.

Sucks, but still cant complain.

Stop loss at $0.48

Sound like an interesting holiday. Not the sort of parameters that I'd like to deal with but each to their own and well done.

To answer your original question, my largest single trade profit was TSO. They announced that they sold their assets and were going to distribute their income worth at least 98.5c, yet it somehow opened at 53c. I managed to grab 100k shares @ 53c and sold them 30 minutes later for 88.5c.
