I have never seen IVV do a prefill to the ATO, but there should be an annual tax statement on computer share with the information you need. Mine came out at the end of July

By following the sub-links in the Pre-fill link provided, here is the current list of Company data available for this. IVV isn't on the list. I initially thought the ATO gets the data from share registries and it may but only for certain entities at present.

It's all a bit weird as while Vanguard is not listed as "Available," some data for its products are pe-filled.

yep, and it's rather annoying. i've been DCA'ing into IVV for several years so i have dozens of small parcels by now, and all those entries are going to have to be updated in my spreadsheet. plus they are all wired up to aggregation functions, pivot tables and the like so i will have to check that none of that stuff got disturbed after updating everything. PITA.
 
I'm leaning toward index ETFs and considering IVV or VTS as a solid ETF to get some general US markets direct exposure.

The MER of 0.03% seems incredibly low for these. I'm not sure how Vanguard can charge an MER of 0.1% for VAS when they can do VTS at 0.03%.
 
I have held IVV for a while and it has been good as a growth stock. With the fees of VAS, my understanding is Vanguard has to pay to use the index. A200 use a different but similar index and have got their fees a bit lower - 0.04%.

One of my picks for the 2025 stock tipping. As dividends are not counted in the comp, need good growth stocks for the comp, and doesnt get much beter the the S & P 500. Held this ETF for many years and has done well, though did sell out to buy a new house as it was my largest profit, but back in now

Starting to mull over the idea of swapping out part of my IVV for the currency hedged variant (IHVV). Thinking about maybe moving 10% of my IVV to IHVV if AUD/USD gets down to 0.6000, another 10% if it gets to 0.5500, and a 3rd 10% if it gets to 0.5000. I like the built in smoothing mechanism of the unhedged variant, but even as a perennial AUD bear due to my belief that our economy has become a one trick pony, I'm starting to wonder whether it can fall much further from here. GFC low was around 0.6000, COVID low was around 0.5500, and it hasn't gone below 0.5000 for over 2 decades now. But major downside is triggering a bunch of CGT doing that.
 
This a general issue:
I expected the AUD to go down but USD has to fall for the USA to make it economically.
So how much further..the above valid for quite a few shares, even commodities and BTC.if the AUD increases, it is a brand new game

One of my picks for the CY25 comp. Good month up 5% with the on/off tariff debarcle. Decided to sell out ofsome of my holdings for the moment as needed a bit of cash for a few projects, but will most likely reinvest a bit more down the track. Has been a solid performer for a few years now.

One of my picks for the CY 25 stock tipping comp. Up 3% for the month and going well for the year despite Trumps Tariff approach. Hopefully the tariff impact goes away and the stock price goes back to an uptrend. Also keep reading legal challenges to Trumps dictating tariffs could be a loss for Trump, making all the tariff deals illegal. This is except the steel and aluminium which has been changes under different legislation. Interesting times
