It's Raining

The forecast major rain event is almost upon us here on the Scarp. Another half an hour and it should be coming in strongly.
This will be the rain I have been waiting for to fill the stock dams to overflowing and get the creeks running.
Everything is close to that magical point.
The dam with the lowest level a week ago is about 6-9 inches from the spillway, means the ground profile is finally filling up.

Had a nice drop of rain so far this morning. Surface water has made the yard near the sheds into a lake.
Best part no wind to cause any dramas.

Weather wise it has been a very good day.
Up to sunset 22mm in the gauge.
Tomorrow's projected rainfall is similar to today's.
If we do get that then the paddocks will be unstable, which is not a worry as it means that the land profile is full, thus creating an excess for the creeks to start running.
Keep send it down Huey!!

I went for a wander outside about an hour ago, 36.5mm in the gauge, front of the machinery shed is ankle deep in water, that's the best I've seen it like that for a long time.
More of the same looks to be coming this afternoon.

Back to a wet few days with some pretty significant rainfall forecast.
Started here on the Scarp about 3.00pm, nothing serious as yet, but tomorrow and Sunday may tell a different story.

The Avon Descent which is an annual white-water event here every year is starting to look as if it may be a good one this year.
With decent rainfall in the catchment area over the past couple of weeks and what is forecast, the rapids may produce some thrills and spills.
Quite a few wanna-bees with their surf skies and power boats have been going past us the last couple of days.

Yesterday and today would have to be one of the wettest periods that we have had here on the Scarp for some time.
To date nearly 50mm has fallen and the rain is showing no signs of abating.
Keep it coming, Hewie.
No complaints from this corner of the room.
Well, actually from the Slumber King, because this kind of weather does not entice one to get excited about menial work to be done outdoors.

It's been a wet 26 hours so far.
We have had here on the Scarp 59mm.
Definitely the best rainfall event for a very long time.
Little to no wind with the rain, and the forecast dire weather did not eventuate.
More is forecast for tonight and tomorrow.
Happy as.

The recent rain event from3pm Friday to 8.00am Sunday, netted us here on the Scarp 75mm.
The best rainfall we have had for some time.
I checked the Red Hill Farm dams this afternoon and all are now overflowing, with the creeks looking like creeks, full of water.
A couple of fine days forecast and then some decent precipitation later in the week.

We have had some pretty decent rain fall over the past 24 hours with 30mm tipped out this morning.
The rain event for today has been cancelled due to a lack of interest.
It was forecast to be a pretty wet day, nonetheless some showers still may come our way during the course of the morning.

15mm overnight according to BOM @farmerge. I was at the rapids yesterday and it is humming along, though I have seen it higher a couple of years ago.

Would you fellas be so kind to direct some of your rain this way?

.08mm so far for August and the forecast isn't good either.
Sorry. It's taken several months to get a decent rain event so we will be greedy and have the lot.
