Financial Year to date - sswwweeeettttt!!!!!!1. How's your overall performance?
Primary goal achieved. i.e. still trading!2. What did you achieve vs your goals?
Winning an email debate with a "Trading Consultant" after he tried to sell me a $4,995.00 weekend forex seminar.3. What were the most memorable events?
Don't taunt the DAX! He doesn't take kindly to insults and he has one hell of a ferocious bite!4. What are the lessons learnt?
Continued improvement to my training methodologies and associated outcomes.5. What are your goals for 2014?
Many, but it's best that I save them for a more appropriate thread.6. Any other thoughts?
1. How's your overall performance?
I can't complain, made the move to prop early in April, treaded water/learned the game for the first few months, then took the plunge and struggled initially yet the last couple of months I truly I feel I've had some 'aha' moments and the results have turned around accordingly. It's now time to take the next step and my confidence is sky high. It's nice to know 'I can do this' given the fact that 3 months ago I wasn't sure if I would still be in the game come Xmas
2. What did you achieve vs your goals?
I didn't have any set goals
3. What were the most memorable events?
Getting carted over a Euro session when the bonds made an intermediate low, Getting carted in late October and then again in Mid November by someone who trades serious size, Getting carted over an U/E figure a few months back. Funny how you never remember the good times!!
4. What are the lessons learnt?
Too many to list. Probably patience and backing myself are the 2 most important factors though
5. What are your goals for 2014?
1. Continue to trade the bonds in a manner I know can make money and continue to increase my size. It's as boring as it comes but just do the same thing over and over and over again. Making money isn't boring.
2. Put the hours in. Big days, long days (nights even). Don't miss opportunities. Stay focused on the goal. 10 hour days aren't good enough.
3. Stay off the internet as much as possible during the day. ABT ALWAYS BE TRADING
4. Learn to hold winners for longer
5. Continue to work on the FTSE at night. Whilst not my 'primary weapon' I need to have the drive to work hard at this on top of what I do during the day. Think of it as a 2nd job.
6. Look back at this thread in a years time and laugh.
6. Any other thoughts?
Continue to push yourself. If you do anything often enough it becomes normal. Work hard, don't complain. I've come a long way but I always need to be pushing harder, more hours more size more trading ideas. something.
What I learnt? Well same thing that I learnt the year before and every year before that. That locals look at the same thing at the same time. Ya just gotta anticipate it and get a position early and ride baby ride.
