Hi all,

I attended a FINSIA course information session on Tuesday and am wondering if anyone here has completed the Diploma in Financial Markets in particular or have done any of their post grad studies.

My aim in doing the Dip course would be to help me in my private trading and not necessarily to start a career in the finance industry (although that would then be an option). Anyone here able to pass comment on whether it would be worth it in this case?

I studied for 2 years towards a double degree in Economics/Finance when I left school but dropped out since it seemed a lot of theory and not much application. From my understanding the FINSIA courses are a lot more applied

All comments much appreciated

I'm doing the Grad Dip in Applied Finance. They are very good. Very professional. Some of the lecturers put you to sleep....The support networks are pretty good too - and absolutely required. Trying to work out company reports on your own is a disaster! I rate them.

Did Diploma, was useful knowledge but only really learnt about debt side. Already knew the equities stuff beforehand for the most part.
Although I concentrated on equities because I knew the stuff.

Doing the Grad Dip now, that is tough and a better course for adding to your trading knowledge/skills.

Tech Analysis units, Mining Investments analysis, industrial equity valuation etc all good topics for knowledge imo.

Fees are a bit much now though....

Im doing the grad dip in app financne and investment and hope to complete the masters of this (if i can get credit averages).

I have also completed the diploma of financial planning as well . Both the diploma of financial planning and financial markets are fairly basic and dont require too much effort .
