Sold 2,000 @ 18.53
Excruciating for a buy and holder temperament
I wanted to hold off selling till the FY26 tax year
Keeping cash level up for a crash sometime
Codan I believe is overvalued. Piddling yield at this price

CDA @ 19.05 intraday.

Fresh 52 week high, closing in on its all-time high of 2021 (not shown) at which time back it peeled off into a massive eyeball rupturing plunge, lol.
Still 'overweight' but waiting out the FY25 CGT year.

If only we could have fully believed the evidence our own eyes when the share price collapsed to below $4 less than three years ago @galumay. Hard going against the market when spooked.
Yes, all-time high in closing prices using daily periods, with the weekly and monthly (shown) closes yet to confrm. June is dicey obviously; finger suspended for the new financial year. Luckily for my intentions Codan doesn't do late earnings guidance updates if I recall rightly.
The chart, you'll be eager to hear, is still looking positive to me, no sign of weakness yet except for momentum indicators and volume slacking off a bit.

Not to boast, (narrator - "he is boasting."), I initiated a position in my SMSF a bit over 3 years ago when it dropped to the mid $5 range, so while I didn't pick the low, I didn't miss by much.

I suspect it was easier for me as I already held in my PA & I had ridden it from sub $1 to $19. I had seen it drop from $4 to sub $1 before I bought, so I was somewhat conditioned to the volatility that is a result of holding businesses for long periods of time.

$20.26 strong volume
Concluded the week with a bang on the intraday high and that's the weekly close all time high.
Holders await the monthly close (and EOFY). Can it last.

Can it last.
No - but first glimmer of hope for a while. Today's modest volume candle opened lower than the close of the prior trading day but finished above the mid-point of the prior day. It fits the description of a 'piercing line'candlestick. Bullish in a downtrend. Not much volume though, as said, and too early to call.

AI
"A piercing line candlestick pattern is a bullish reversal pattern that appears after a downtrend, suggesting a potential shift from a bearish to a bullish trend. It consists of two candlesticks: a long bearish (red/black) candle followed by a bullish (green/white) candle. The second candle opens lower than the previous day's low and closes at least halfway up the body of the first bearish candle, ideally above its midpoint. This pattern indicates that buyers are starting to overcome the selling pressure and could lead to an upward price movement."

You are in very good company @finicky selling.

Quote : "My biggest winner has been Adelaide-based Codan (ASX: CDA), who do metal detection and communications equipment globally. It’s a great business, but I did sell down recently as the valuation has gotten very stretched in my view, and I switched this capital to a couple of other positions that are offering better projected returns."
