Australian Federal Election 2025

Would have to be an April Fool's joke but it has passed that date.
Would appear that not much has changed with their thinking.

Careful, careful Farmmerge. (Are you serious ?) Again this is a satirical story. The Liberal Party is not proposing that their Nuclear power stations will be painted pink and set in a garden of verdant green grass and buttercups. But it could be a theoretical way to soften the image of such plants...

Four Corners was good tonight, Smith Andrew Hastie Sarah Henderson heaps of other Liberal Parliamentarians, the Liberal executive leader. Very interesting.
Great interviews.

Just been reading about a WA Green's Senator who has decided to join the Federal Labour Party.
I find this a bit rich, as though those who voted for the Greens would rightly assume their nominated choice would be in that Party for the duration of Parliament.
Apparently she sided up to Albo the Elbow and threw him love and kisses while he is here in WA.

I take it as saying more about the current situation of the Greens than the senator personally.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the party implode. Had that thought prior to the election and I'm thinking it's even more likely now.

The basic problem for the Greens comes down to what does the party stand for and who does it represent? Same problem the Liberals have.

Same problem that Labor has

After all, Greens voters, Liberal voters voted Labor. What do they think Labor stands for to attract these votes ?

Called on the 9th May -

There is a clear sign of structural, strategic failure that could be the beginning of the end for the Greens as they follow the historical trajectory of other minor parties and independent groupings that have overreached, faltered, failed and disappeared. Who remembers the Australian Democrats?
Bandt’s attempts to blame major party conspiracies and preference flows to explain away the loss do not stand up to scrutiny, nor do they address the real reasons for failure – the Greens turning away from the fundamentals of their environmental foundations, a sympathy for extremist behaviour and radical economic policies that have alienated Australian voters.
It all adds up to decline and fall for the Greens.

Keeping Election promises after a resounding victory.

Utopias take on the Labour Victory

Same problem that Labor has
I was almost going to write that myself.

Then I realised that Labor has at least half answered the question itself.

What does Labor stand for? Well it's the only substantial party that's at least reasonably well organised.

It's the equivalent of the pre-internet era and finding yourself watching a particular TV program not because it was great, just that it was the only thing on that was at least somewhat interesting and/or entertaining. The kind of thing nobody went out of their way to watch, but they'd choose it over the alternatives if they were going to watch TV at that time.

Not a lot of cattle to choose from.
My bet is by the next Fed election our Basil who is the new current leader of the Liberals here in WA will be given a "safe" seat to become the next and one of many past Liberal Party leaders.
This would be an exercise in futility, as Basil is still uniparty.

The Liberals will be toast for a very long time.

Pretty well opposite to my views on the flag, and welcome to country.
I still believe they give Basil "The Mouth" a couple of years in State politics and then shoehorn him into a safe Federal Liberal seat

I just don't even want to vote at this stage. The minor liberty parties just aren't getting traction, so futile voting there. Despite a million parties, we are effectively a two party state...

... Actually a one party state.

Scanning real-estate.com.au for caves at least 1000km from civilization.

Sadly Rio blew the best one up

Rightly or Wrongly Basil is trying to get the Liberals back in the game part of that is they need to catch-up with the times meaning Boomers are dying out and the new cohort of voters just aren’t buying into the stock conservatives BS.
Generational change is underway way where it goes who knows.

Current Lib Opposition Fed and State not worth a pinch of salt.
Have noticed that Basil seems to have toned down a bit recently.
Perhaps his minders have suggested a bit of less rhetoric, and more substance would be the go.

When you sit back and look at the anomalous situation of a Conservative red state in the US, Texas; Renewable energy projects approved and constructed and operating.
And then Progressive , blue state California projects held up by byzantine regulation.

I'm want to give any advice let alone to the current Liberal Party; but for those in the Coalition who can read... 'Ezra Klein and Derek Thompson "Abundance".
But to try and explain the cost curve of PV to Joyce, Canavan, and McCormack? you may as well be trying to explain rocket telemetry to chimpanzees ... they know all to well about lobbyist wants though.
