Just borrow more, chase the dream and more group hugs. LolLessons.
The result:
More Teals, less Greens,
More Labor seats, less Liberal.
Dutton showed grace and class.
Jacinta Price showed none of that and she is part of the problem.
Libs need to have a hard think and get back to being the Liberal Party I used to vote for.
That means ignoring the Republican party, turning off Sky News, telling Gina Rheinhardt to stop pulling strings and making them all read Bob Menzies manifesto.
Secondly, put together a plan that encourages enterprise, not property investment, encourage small business not overseas interests and most of all provide a clear cohesive alternative.
Cut loose the culture war desk jockeys who are mostly old blokes.
They can join Clive Palmer's party.
Get back on track.
I don't know who the new leader will be but I am sure it won't be Angus Taylor.
The Libs won't want to do that again. Promise a bigger debt than Labor.Just borrow more, chase the dream and more group hugs. Lol
@SirRumpole I chose the ABC election coverage as I enjoy Antony Green's perspective on how it might go.Are people watching the election or the football?
The Libs federally are nearly as dead as they are here in WA.Dutton loses his seat. The Liberal Party is in disarray. The Conservatives are dead.
I'm moving to Argentina.
@Knobby22 Antony Green reckoned it would be close but thought Bandit would just scrap in.Bandt is in trouble. Going to be close!
@Knobby22 They have to find a competent leader first.The Libs won't want to do that again. Promise a bigger debt than Labor.
I am fairly confident they will come back better in 3 years. Become the Liberal Party again.
Hmmm nobody comes to mind readilyYes, they lost of couple of potential leaders this election. It reminds me of what happened in Victoria. They might need to parachute someone in.
I thought that Peter Dutton's acknowledgement of Labour's win tonight was graciousYes, they lost of couple of potential leaders this election. It reminds me of what happened in Victoria. They might need to parachute someone in.
From the AEC website as of now on a state by state basis for the Liberal/National Coalition:The Libs federally are nearly as dead as they are here in WA.
Not does it matter who is your party of choice, a healthy and energetic Opposition is needed in every Parliament.From the AEC website as of now on a state by state basis for the Liberal/National Coalition:
NT = 0 seats / out of 2 seats total.
ACT = 0/3
Tas = 0/5
SA = 2/10
WA = 4/16
Vic = 6/38
NSW = 11/46
Qld = 14/30
Which brings up an interesting point regarding the detail:
Liberal has 14 seats total.
SA = 2
Vic = 3
WA = 4
NSW = 5
Nationals have 9 seats total.
Vic = 3
NSW = 6
Liberal National Party of Queensland has 14 seats.
So Qld is the only state where they've been even remotely successful. If it wasn't for that, without Qld, they'd be pretty close to wiped out.
A big change in attitude is needed.Was hoping Dutton could somehow take the win, but Albo is not sooo bad, in the scheme of things.
Whoever takes over the Liberals leadership should be a more "smiley" guy. For all his shortcomings, Scomo was a big, jolly bear of a man. Angus Taylor is probably the way forward. It makes me shiver a little to imagine how much they might need to compromise core principle in order to win enough seats next time.
Am practicing my Español as we speakDoing some initial research, I think I could buy a vineyard in Mendoza and get away from this crap.
Maybe @wayneL could come and look after the horses.

If you follow a few of my post, democracy and mandatory vote where a welfare recipient vote is as weighted as a business owner with 100 employees is a bribing game.Was hoping Dutton could somehow take the win, but Albo is not sooo bad, in the scheme of things.

Rusted on now sp?Absolutely, then they have two terms of Govrrnment and can't blame anyone else for the outcomes, which will be brilliant.
It doesn't get better than this IMO.
