Australian Federal Election 2025

I reckon it's going to be close.
Melbourne seats like McKewan where petrol is a huge cost are likely to swing.

There is no anti Victorian Morrison factor this time.

Libs could easily win 5 seats.
If Dutton had done better they definitely would have won them.

I'm going to refrain from making a prediction, as I have been spectacularly wrong before.

Voted the other day I have no feeling as to who will win.

Read that a month or so ago, obviously not in $ , but per percentage of average or median income..the usual slow pace to oblivion we saw in France , all these jobs created out of thin air in the various state and fed departments, increasing relentlessly the gov part of the economy on a shrinking base of wealth creating companies(can be sme/tradies)...
And inevitably leading to inflating debt.
I read an interesting concept: can a government creating a debt be called a democracy, as it actually imposes some obligation on a yet to be born/vote population ..seems far fetched but think twice...there is some truth there

Sir Rumpole I have been bombarded with text messages from Team Liberal ad nausium.
Now just delete and report it as a scam.
The best they can offer is the reduction on fuel.
Yippie do dar.
For us fuel is a tax deduction so no gain in that for us.

Very few texts from the LNP, a lot from Labor, more from Trumpet.

All ignored.

@wayneL Got a good book to read Wayne.
One of the reasons why we vote as early as possible.
Very little queuing.
Every time I drive past the early voting venue in Madland, there was a massive queue as well and never had the time for the wait.

We went last Saturday mid morning and voted, had to wait about 5 minutes after running the gautlant of vote for my mob.
That's the painful bit, as we had made up our minds about which lot would get our $2.40 as the first vote and the real voting after that.

Yeah neither Dutto nor Albo got my $2.40.... it was funny there were nearly as many blues as people in the queue during the week, only a couple of commies and only one watermelon, yet this morning there was hardly anyone from any party.

There was a Rennick guy there, had a nice chat with him, salt of the earth.

My gawd, we're doomed...

but no texts, phew

Out for a walk, (Labor seat), and at the local polling station, corflutes plus 5 red shirts, 3 green and one blue. very low-key.

in queue at coffee shop, it's either tax strategies or property prices.

and at the park, eavesdropping on next generations, all green green.

@wayneL Perhaps the perceived forecast of rain has scared the pamphlet spruckers away. A bonus for those queuing.
