Has the loophole been fixed? Check the previous games on this forum where it is noted that in the game you could buy and sell without having to queue. When your number of shares were traded on the real market then your order was filled. Players could do multiple trades across the spread all day. Check 2014 thread on this forum.
Anyway if you want to join league with me let me knowThe game starts aug 3, then you can tell.
I was going to make a couple of trial trades to see how the volume/fills work.
That does not make it risk free, you could still get hit if it blows out either way. But is is an advantage nevertheless.
But i do not think that is the essence of the game.
I'll support @OmegaTrader and help any beginners get organised throughout this next ASX sharemarket game. It is a good opportunity to gain some experience with the daily market gyrations and the processes of buying and selling.
I can't help those who just want to gamble and have fun because you won't learn anything. However if you're serious about learning what it takes to be profitable then I'll help. I'm certain that others in this community will help also. I'm a chart trader and I base my trading on price action that is recorded on the price charts. If you're more interested in company fundamentals then others will reply to your queries.
Your goal for the game should be to gain experience interacting with the market and a preliminary understanding of the skills required to be profitable.
Well I'd hoped we'd generate some interest in using the ASX game as a learning experience from the many new members who have recently joined.
Where else would you get friendly suggestions that will help you create your trading plan?
Where else would you get feed back as you interact with the ASX market in real time?
Where else would you find people willing to look at your trades and offer suggestions?
I've signed up and have $50k ready to invest although I don't think I will get much higher then that. Happy to join the league if it will give me super investing powers
What I would say is try to go for volatility=small caps and also remember that there is hypothetical commission at $10,000 traded=$20 and .2% after that.
Awesome, thanks for that. Yes I have 2 lots of stock, 200 with ARB & 2000 with MTR. I'm down $14 with ARB but up $10 with MTR. Was meant to be 2000 with arb but missed the extra 0 but happy it has worked out that way.Hi Pete. Volatility is a measure of price movement in either direction.
Smaller priced stocks are considered volatile because small changes in price are large when expressed in percentages.
To do well in this ASX game you have to grab large % moves and this mostly happens in the lower priced stocks that are in the ASX200.
During reporting season (now) large percentage movements can happen when a stock reports an unexpected profit downgrade or upgrade.
Have you had a go at the game and bought something yet?
Can you explain more of the stocks you picked and why you picked them.I've bought into four stocks that had started to go up. I'll hold onto them while price keeps going up or stays the same. I've also placed falling sells on them to sell them if price goes down even slightly.
This helps me keep the losses smaller than the winners which is essential in order to be profitable.
Everybody who wants to learn how to interact with the market and make a profit should try this during this game. It's good experience.
