ASM - Australian Strategic Materials

I haven't seen any news on China tariffs and what the current situation is with REEs but I assume the excitement is off and China is likely to allow exports again.

It would be nice to have a clearer picture on REEs and future supply required from non-China sources. Like other so-called critical minerals that China dominate it's hard to see a timeline or real outlook past some of the short term noise.
too true, Sean. All we do know is the supply / price situation will be managed / manipulated to maintain hegemony.

News this afternoon that has precipitated/anticipated (choose a verb) the REE risk-off sentiment.

Punters have assumed the REE thing will be wrapped up with upcoming trade agreements me thinks.

Everything seems rosy again in financial markets thanks to good news on the US-China tariff front, but warning bells should still be ringing in the minds of many investors.

While the bounce-back in shares has been breathtaking, the trade war truce between the world’s two largest economies remains only temporary, global geopolitical worries continue, and the Trump administration remains as unpredictable as ever.

Sharemarkets in Australia, the US and elsewhere have clawed back all of their heavy losses that started with Donald Trump’s April 2 “liberation day” tariffs and the ensuing tit-for-tat battle between the US and China.

The superpower brawl had escalated to 145 per cent tariffs on Chinese goods entering the US and 125 per cent tariffs on US goods entering China, but commonsense returned and both have now been reduced by 115 per cent in a 90-day pause in hostilities.

The market liked this news.

Should effect other REE plays you'd guess.

ASM has been given a boost courtesy of every Tom Dick and Harry saying we need a home grown REM industry.
Not as big a boost as some others, but a boost nonetheless.
After a rocky start to the year, its up 20% and contributing to my position in the yearly comp.

I only mused yesterday when I checked up on this one, that anything under $0.60 in this current climate, is probably a decent buy point.
Just my personal opinion. Held.
Needs to butt up through that ~$0.80 ceiling though, which it has struggled with. Not sure what they are up to in the FA department though.
