@farmerge hope all is well with your recovery. It can be a very difficult time both physically and mentally. I should know having been ripped open twice in a 6 month period. Heart function was down to 17% and it’s been a long road to recovery. 12 years in fact but have managed to get heart function up to high 40% until my last scans revealing a fall in function in May.@Als2own I am not in it for the prize just the fun of the Competition. Of course if I jag top spot well and good.
I agree with you about what is important in life.
When I had my heart surgery earlier this year I was unable to keep to the Comp rules and got my son to message Mick asking for a month's reprieve.
Not that hard
@Als2own certainly not crazy. Main thing that I find and you certainly have is to keep mentally and physically active also.@farmerge hope all is well with your recovery. Head space shifted for the worse at the time and had to reassess my priorities. One thing I credit for my survival is being mental active in the market and I find this comp helpful. Call me crazy if you must but you can only do what’s best for you![]()
@farmerge the doctors have become very good at detecting problems early and the surgery teams know the sooner they get you done the better chance of survival. My story is similar to yours but thankfully my doctor that was assessing an other of my issues, picked up on an irregular heart beat. I was only 45 and still fit and active and only starting to have symptoms.@Als2own bit by bit there seems to be quite a few of us who have had heart surgery, some recent and others not so recent.
My case was have it NOW or be looking at the roof of a box within 3-4 or up to 6 months maximum.
That was not a hard decision to make.
The hard part was and still is sitting back and not being able to put in a full day's work, but that is my goal by year's end.
All mine were done.Understandably, coming to the end of the year some people out of contention may reduce posting, but if you're in with a shot at the prizes, you need to keep monthly posts going, including for the last place prize. Only 4 months to go, so a measly 4 posts to contribute for the health of the wonderful ASF!![]()
