Whats with the moderation on that site!!!!

It's actually impossible to have an intellectual conversation on that site without some nazi moderator deleting a post at their arbitray discression..

A post of mine was deleted because i wrote this b..l...t instead of BS

I have heard worse in the supermarket!!!!


It's really frustrating...

I don't even know why I go there. I always come away feeling very angry and aggressive...

Maybe they are run by the bretheren:confused::eek:
 
ROFL ..... which is why Hotflopper is for kiddywinks who want to annouce things like "CHOO CHOO the train is leaving the station .... ALL ABOARD" and that kind of stuff when they want to ramp a stock? LOLOLOL

The BLT (bacon, lettuce, and tomato) is a type of bacon sandwich. The BLT traditionally has several strips of well-cooked or even crispy bacon, leaves of lettuce (traditionally iceberg or romaine), and slices of tomato, layered between slices of bread (often toasted). Mayonnaise is the traditional condiment for the BLT. Much better than BS any day.

I did think of saying hey what's profane about a BLT but its so childish

I just have never been censored like I have there for the most ridiculous things....



I think it's a ramping site..it should be shut down

I just don't go there. The times I have, I could feel my IQ being drained by the minute... and I just don't have that many points to give away. :eek:
 
Cordelia, I joined HC about the same time I joined ASF. Was unfamiliar at the time (several years ago now) with online forums.

It took me about a week to decide that HC was utterly worthless, and that I could learn a lot from ASF.

If you persist with logging in over there, you're responsible for the irritation that will result. Up to you entirely.

Yes, HC is worthless. I used it for a short period of time and was then suspended for use of profanity. Some situation, used ****'s to bleep the word. I sent an email to admin apologizing, got one back telling me that my suspension had been upgraded to permanent suspension due to suspected multiple accounts. They couldn't produce evidence so I just walked. Best thing that could of happened I reckon, because I actually get value from add, while HC is just rubbish.

by the way, the profanity came about when I changed my signature, so it changed all my previous posts, but they only moderated 1 of the posts. So if you go and look at a post by pedalofogus on HC, you will still see the 'f-bomb'. Defeats the purpose of moderating doesn't it. Haha idiots
 
I use HC sometimes for speccie stock coverage

They will not tolerate any profanity whatsoever, which seems very PC
but you know what you gotta do to NOT get moderated. (for that anyway)

btw, anyone know what the ownership structure of HC is?

wasnt it recently sold as a business?
 
Control freak moderators and owners make it into a nanny website. Makes this site such a refreshing change and that reflects very well on Joe.

I still visit HC, because amongst the lesser known posters there is great fundamental info shared around. The "post ever other minute" guys with all the shields and hearts seem to be among the less useful, IMO.
 
I admit that I paid a visit to HC once (about a year ago, l was curious), signed up just to view the threads.
Last about 5 minutes, left and have never returned. I still get junk mail from them.

ASF is miles ahead and the mods here are fantastic. Joe Blow, this is a terrific website!
 
I do go to HC every now and then but I've never posted there... I think that's called a leecher! ASF is my true love. HC is my mistress that I call upon only in times of need :D

There are sometimes interesting coverage of certain stocks that are simply not here at ASF. But agree that for every useful post you come across, you have to go through 50 complete useless junk.

Another very useful thing about HC is to avoid stocks that have the highest post rates... those are the ones that the lammings are following and I bet you can plot a chart of post rate vs share price and see that the peak post rate probably correspond to the high (and turning point) of the share price!

There are only 2 types of people that talk like that:

1. Hotcopper 'kiddywinks'; and
2. Richard Reid (from Channel 9)

Just take 2 minutes to imagine Richard Reid saying those words. It just sounds like him! haha
 
I read posts on HC and ASF daily. HC is definitely more popular and I agree that a lot of posts there are rubbish, but at the same time there are heaps of very good, qualified, informed, knowledgeable people posting there too. So, as far as I am concerned, one has to try to pick good post, disregard the rubbish. ASF has its share of silly posts too. I think that mods are doing a good job on both forums.
 
If I want to find out whats going on with a spec stock I hold then I will go to HC for a look. There really are some very well informed people there. The forum doesn't have the same feel as this one though. Basically everything said has to be taken as ramping, even if they do sound like they know what they are talking about. The trader rather than investor mentality means too many people (basically everyone) is beating their own drum.
 
If you want proof of how over moderated hot copper is, check out PRR discussions tonite. An entire thread has been moderated for ramping. Haha RAMPING! Hot coppers whole business relies on ramping!

I must agree with your sentiments. They are a pack of #ankers.

As one who has been permanently banned on 4 occasions their IT pickup on new members is atrocious. As Groucho famously said, any club that would have him as a member he would not want to join.

To be fair to them they were fined by ASIC or some other mob of incompetents for ramping about 8 years ago from memory, so perhaps they are a bit over cautious.

I prefer Joe's method of threats and entreaties to keep the rabble in line.

I have found both ASF and HC good. Have learn't lots form both and will give credit to HC for identifying SDL, MHM among a few shares which have gone well. ASF have also influenced these shares.
