Probably a stupid question but i just need to know.
Will seem like an idiot if i sent somebody a resume when they asked for a CV :banghead:

Hi Nizar
Last time I checked they were the same mate, so I don't see any issue here.....

What job r u applying for???

Cheers
Reece

CV= Curriculum Vitae

A Resume is traditionally a shorter document setting out just educational qualifications and work experience.

CV should be a longer document and setting out in more detail your educational background, work experience, skills, achievements in previous roles and interests.

However, in practice many people incorrectly consider the terms interchangable. It really depends on the role you applied for and the organisation.

....not to mention one's ability at putting one together. Is the result a CV or a resume?

The solution is internet. Simply type CV in your google search engine and have a look at the results. To answer you question. Yes, CV is a resume. Good luck.

Curriculum Vitae is a latin term meaning "lies and embellishments" :D

I just used an MS Word wizard for my CV, then changed it a bit so i didn't look soooo MS.

You're presuming everyone likes Google. Not everyone uses google as their search engine.

OK I'll go back to lurking status and stop being so pedantic again :)

You're probably the type of person who knows what a gerund is without checking the dictionary :D ;)
:eek: errr.... I must have been misbehaving when they covered that one. (as was often the case)

Or should I say, I missed that one due to my misbehaving. ;)
