Morning Tea Time

Just coffee as I struggle through my mid-morning slump. Maybe I will share a bit of banana bread but only after a hard SwimFit session.
I prefer not to eat anything during morning tea. I would like to control my blood sugar levels.
Treats should be only eaten at the end of main meals. After fibre (vegetables), then protein (meats, fish, poultry, eggs, dairy) are eaten first. Then you can have some limited carbs, then sweets, although table sugar is a form of carb.
Sucrose = glucose + fructose.
Only the liver can deal with fructose.

Morning and arvo tea times are sugar fix times.
When I DO actually get back to full time work these are burnt off pretty quickly via blood and seat and sometimes a tear or two

I gave into my sugar addiction today.
I paddled my surf (spec) ski in the choppy ocean this morning. Exhausted, I put my ski on my car and drove back to my club. My fellow Clubbies fed me pumpkin soup. Then I walked to favourite coffee to eat poached eggs on sourdough toast with spinach and mushrooms.
After fasting for nearly 15 hours as well as exercising hard in the choppy ocean - I was still hungry. I saw a custard croissant and I let sugar addiction get the better of me. Plus my friend who owns the coffee shop was happy that I brought something extra. He normally gives me a discount, so I would buy on the odd occasion, something extra to help him out.
Not sure if I could count this yummy croissant as morning tea or breakfast extension. I was eating brekky at 11:15am because I wanted a fasting period.

If you need to eat something sweet (like I did), try to avoid eating it on its own. Eating order matters if you want to prevent a glucose spike. Then try to do a 10-15 minute walk immediately (or within 30 minutes of finishing eating). That also help with reducing the expected glucose spike.

But the best thing (for me) is to avoid mid-meal snacks. Exercise hard and stick to 3 meals a day. Glad that I have a physical job tomorrow.

Eating is so physiological, should I say emotional. No wonder I use to pig out during morning tea whilst at my boring jobs years ago. Was I suppressing my emotions?
