BSA - BSA Limited

I think there is a very real chance they go into VA, @divs4ever, the redundancy costs are going to kill them.
maybe you are correct , but they have a major holder that is likely to help them out

i would suggest prospective investors to go VERY carefully , but they survived doing ( relatively ) small electrical/telco work in the past and there is still a 'buzz ' around data centres

sure i prefer SXE in this area ( i hold ) , but a cheeky nibble looks tempting

the other possibility is UGL ( now part of CIM or whatever they are now ) swallows them whole and you still crystallize a capital loss

BSA Trading Update and Smart Metering Contracts
BSA Limited (ASX: BSA) today provides a trading update and an update on its smart metering contracts.
Trading Update
• BSA expects to report a strong quarterly result both in profitability and cash flow.
• EBITDA for the Q3 FY2025 quarter will be approximately $7 million, before restructuring costs,
reflecting robust operating performance across the majority of platforms.
• Total cash flow for the Q3 FY2025 period will be in excess of $8 million, with a net cash balance of over
$10m and no underlying debt as at 31 March 2025. This is underpinned by the strong operating results
and a focus on working capital management.
• Further details will be shared BSA’s Q3FY2025 Appendix 4C expected to be released in late April.
Update on Smart Metering Contracts
BSA also advises that it has been notified of changes to expected volumes for its existing smart metering
contracts with Intellihub and Bluecurrent. These evergreen contracts contributed approximately $15m in
annual revenues however carry no volume guarantees. Intellihub volumes have been materially reduced such
that BSA does not expect any revenue after April 2025. This is primarily due to the evolving retail landscape,
where many retailers have paused package work. Bluecurrent has informed BSA that it is unlikely to enter into a new agreement in FY2026 however volume impacts are yet to be determined.
BSA has proactively taken steps to mitigate operational and financial impacts, including reallocation of resources and ongoing cost management initiatives in addition to those previously announced.
BSA remains committed to the energy and utilities sector and continues to pursue new growth opportunities to offset the expected decline in revenue.
Authorised for release by the Board of Directors.

BSA Leadership Transition and Business Update

i do not hold this share ( but have in the past )

but do hold a LIC which might have a substantial holding and have a different LIC ( from the same stable ) that has a major holding on my watch-list

is it time to look at BSA , again ( i wonder )

it has lost the contracts that inspired me to sell out , back to basics might be a good thing

I know little about this one but the chart and their recent announcements indicate they have had their fair amount of turmoil in recent times.
Market cap before today was about $8M with only 75M shares on issue.

Announcements yesterday Quarterly showing $10M profit for the Quater and a closing balance of $23M cash on hand with roughly $8M in bills to pay , so say $15M in cash.

Im not sure of what turmoil they are in but those numbers are lopsided for an $8M MC.

Also a heavy hitter has come in and purchased 20% of the Company for $1.5M (announced yesterday)

I'll put ths one in for my Monthly pick if no one else has picked it

it all depends of IF those NBN (sub) contracts was a good thing ( or not )

i bought into this in June 2011 @ 19 cents , extracted the investment cash in September 2017 @ 49 cents and crystallized the profit in December 2020 @ 33 cents , after noticing they were doing a LOT of work for the NBN ( it screamed 'key customer risk ' to me , so i hit the parachute )

now is back to the core business after unwinding the expenditure devoted to NBN servicing going to make me invest here again

maybe but i want to see how the business restructure is travelling ( and i still have some exposure via at least one LIC )
