Thanks Joe!!
Yes I have been thinking about this ETF and putting some money into it for the long term. The pound against the dollar is weak due to brexit fears, but after brexit boils over in 10 or 20 years time, the currency tailwind should increase the price quite a bit. Obviously this is a bit of a gamble, but reduced somewhat because I am looking at keeping the stock for the next 20/30 years.
Currently I only have an ASX20 tracker (which I'm not keen on at all) so am now looking at moving into ETF's (of which VEQ might be one of them - the others I'll split across Aussie, property and US ETF's). ETFs appear to be good for low maintenance investing (i.e. low cost and are easy to use - i.e. after an initial lump sum, I'll keep adding monthly).
Has anyone else thought of, or bought VEQ recently with the idea that the currency will help in the long run?
cheers,
stretch
