I am thinking of getting into the stock market.
Do I get a broker attached to my buying and selling even if I trade by myself online?

You always need a Broker if you want to buy or sell shares.
But if your question refers to a personal advisor at the Broker (Company) office, the answer is No. Online brokers usually facilitate DMA (Direct Market Access), routing your buy and sell order straight from your computer/ mobile app through into the respective stock exchange's Execution system.

I am an Aussie citizen now but initially from Sri Lanka. In Sri Lanka I use to buy and sell online but yet a broker fee was deducted and I was told I had a personal broker through a brokering company although I never got his assistance to buy and sell.
Is this the same scenario in Australia?
