No one is against slowing China. No one!Yes Trump hasn't been in office all the time since 1990, which is where your graph takes off, but he is the only one that has said it needs to change.
I guess all the Presidents between 1990 ( the ramp up of globalisation) and the present, were happy with the $hit heap they were making.
As I've said before in this thread, Trump is no paragon of virtue and he is self interested, the U.S has milked the globalisation cow to the end and is now trying to reverse the rot if it can't Trump and the U.S is toast.
Why the loonies are against the concept of slowing China down is a mystery to me, that is the issue none of the left want to address, what is the plan if China keeps rising to the point of owning the World? Will that make the Loonies happy.
Do the loonies really think, that if China sends everyone broke and we keep printing money, China will put the same value on our money, that we do?
It didn't work for our nickel, it didn't work for our lithium, what is the underpinning value in our currency, other than thinking we are really nice people, that are going to save the world by cleaning the air for them and we are special and smug.
Let's be honest, one would think marijuana has already been legalised and everyone is smoking it.
Our currency is about $US64c, China already manipulates the value of our exports, what do you think would happen if the $US lost reserve currency status and China controlled the exchange rate by being the currency that everyone traded in?
Everyone seems to have a short memory, we were made to pizz our pants, when we asked China to investigate covid.
I really haven't seen China being overly benevolent to us or anyone else, they sell their junk cheap we are addicted to it. The problem is getting off the junk isn't easy and the billionare distributer's don't want us to, the billionaires hate Trump because they don't want their distribution disrupted.
Trump doesn't make his money from Chinese junk, he makes it from selling accomodation and gaming/gambling to American punters, if the American punters become third world punters, Trump goes broke.
If the U.S completely loses its middle class, no one goes to Trump Tower in Las Vegas, no one pushes their credit cards and pay packets through the casino, no one goes to the golf course, that's how Trump makes his money, not selling Chinese electronics or cars, or any other consumer goods.
Trump Organization entities own, operate, invest in, and develop hotels, residential real estate, resorts, residential towers, and golf courses.
That's my two cents worth.
The multinationals are against it, why would they want to slow down their sales, or relocate their manufacturing from sweat shops? That wouldn't make sense, that's why Trump is coping all the flack, it ain't rocket science. No one is against slowing China. No one!
Everyone isn't so keen on the tax cuts instead of paying off debt.
Apple have already got an exemptionThe multinationals are against it, why would they want to slow down their sales, or relocate their manufacturing from sweat shops? That wouldn't make sense, that's why Trump is coping all the flack, it ain't rocket science.
A lot of rich people in the U.S make a lot of their money, by importing junk they get made in China and sell it in the West at a huge profit.
What I can't understand is why the loonies can't see this if continued has to end badly.
Yet the same people go on about the Woolies Coles duopoly, or the Big 4 banks dominance of Australias banking.
Yet they don't see a problem with China having a monopoly on World manufacturing and actively lambast someone for trying to stop it.
Weird people IMO.
And?Apple have already got an exemption
Where is the tariff money going? To help ordinary people adjust during this difficult period. To provide support? No that's actually been cut. To pay the debt? No.And?
Do they have a factory in the U.S? I know I recently read Indonesia is trying to get them to build a manufacturing plant there.
Has Apple made concessions to Trump?
Just saying Apple have already have an exemption, is pretty meaningless.
I'm sure Tesla will have an exemption, they make cars in the U.S and China, also have Starlink and Space X.
What do we have from Fortesque other than a hole in the ground? As we smile on smugly.
Let's be honest, what is Victoria exporting, for its $200billion of debt? Or what does it look like it is going to produce, for export, to cover its debt and build its future apart from a tourist train.
Meanwhile we take the pizz out of other countries, weird IMO.
IMO we certainly seem to have an over inflated opinion of ourselves, when you consider we really only dig holes and sell houses to each other.
Any money we do make, we try to find a new good cause to give it to, rather than investing in value adding or productive output.
That's noble and nice, until you run out of money, because the hole that your digging to pay for everything, runs dry.
Well you tell me where it is going and while your at it, have you worked out the Victoria State debt problem yet? That should be easier it is close to home.Where is the tariff money going? To help ordinary people adjust during this difficult period. To provide support? No that's actually been cut. To pay the debt? No.
My god, that sums it up, you answer all the questions I've posed in the last three posts, by copying and pasting something from god knows where, by god knows who, who has vested interests in god knows what. This says what he is doing.

I thought you were an engineer.
When I realised that those who you thought were on your side and representing you, were actually in bed with the bosses, a lot of others worked it out also, about 1984 the beginning of globalisation..When was it you started thinking?Couldn't resist

It was when, the working class realised to not believe everything you hear, probably about the same time you started working for the union.
I couldn't resist either.
Union membership in Australia 1960 -2010.

Maybe a few group training gigs and a few compulsory competency and assessment businesses? I've known quite a few union organisers and secretaries over the years.Yep they are all now businesspeople, trade contactors, contactors etc on their way to greater riches, safety standards etc setup by unions.
Note the highest paid in the US are normally union members
They look like they were done in Word, not photoshop. Is it true that the photos showing gang membership tattoos on the bloke in El Salvador were photo shopped?
The US network ABC interview was a extortionary train wreak cannot think of another one as bad.
I like that Trump is President, but let me be the first to admit that he is a narcissist and a troll (hence my many tongue in cheek posts [God Emperor etc]).I find Trump's posting of the Trump Gaza video and Trump Pope image concerning.
He is what he is, and his behaviour might have gotten a little worse over the last 8 years, but I don't think that he's previously posted things quite this crazy.
I'm worried that these are signs of some sort of mental illness developing as he ages.
Indeed Ferret .. Yes declaring he would like to be Pope and posting a picture of himself from the White House in full mufti seems a little...strange ?I find Trump's posting of the Trump Gaza video and Trump Pope image concerning.
