Hi, i have only JUST begun to educate myself in stock trading. I was wondering for someone to be a full time trader and make a decent yearly income, is this at the cost of lifestyle? Are there particular investments that lend to a more lifestyle oriented job?

Basically, does full time trading always correlate to high stress?

Which trading options are best to maintain normal hours of work & sleep?

I would say that the amount of stress depends on your trading style.

If you have to be glued all day to your computer with nano second making decisions and you push the button all day long, I think a shower at least twice a day is in order.

Traders who start this way will do this for a limited amount of years and generally move to longer term trading later to keep their sanity.

In my case I have to be around during trading hours for when the alarm calls the troops to the battle station, but I can still get old without too many side effects

Cost of lifestyle is a personal matter.......if you like to chatter to lots of people around you, you`re better off working for McDonald.

This is the best business in the world:

you`re not bound to one place with the technology nowadays....I`ve been seen trading from a cruise ship.

you dont have to chase up your debtors: every day the money flows into your account.

you hardly have to do any accountancy and no stock taking: with one push of the button the printer will spit it all out.

no need to see your friendly bank manager for a loan: plenty of leverage available.

no need to smile to customers with a splitting headache.

BUT: like any other business it will take you years and bloody hard work to get a decent yearly income.

the type of investments is not important, but beware of the stress factor
